I was very fortunate that the great Steve Ritchie one of the greatest design minds in Pinball & Games and one of the most beloved members of the Pinball community was kind enough to give me time for a sit down interview on Saturday at Pintastic NE 2026.

Part 1

part 2

Some of you might be wondering why I break these into two parts. The primary reason is that my old Cannon Camera doesn’t record beyond 19 minutes at a time.

The logical question is why I don’t get a new one it’s because I like the thing and have been using it for over a decade and produces excellent video.

The 2nd logical question is why don’t I just edit the video into one, part of it is when I had the reputation as being “The hardest working man in the blogosphere” I would shoot so much video & attempt to get it up fast editing would take too much time but the other part is more basic. Back when I was reporting for money I made it a rule not to edit videos so that people who watched my material knew it was a true representation of what was said.

Given the choice of an edited interview or no interview the latter.is my choice. Given the choice of an edited video or no video give me no video.

Only broke the rule once for a catholic religious lady who let something slip for 2 seconds.

Bottom line, what you see is what was said.

Previously:

Back in the days before Youtube decided to ban me for daring to question the 2022 election the most popular Pintastic NE videos I had were all the various interviews with Todd Tuckey.

If you go to my rumble account and do a search for Todd Tuckey you will find interview after interview with Todd Tuckey at each Pintastic NE and once at his shop while I was passing through so there is a lot to choose from so for our final day before we visit Pintastic in its new location I have picked last year’s interview with Todd to showcase here.

His youtube chanel is legendary in pinball circles. His latest talks about his upcoming visit to Pintastic tomorrow. Here it is:

One of the sad things about my ban from youtube is that I couldn’t leave a comment to say that I’m looking forward to seeing him this week.

Back before I was banned the single most popular Pintastic NE video I had was this interview with pinball designer extraordinaire Steve Ritchie

In terms of Pinball Royalty you don’t get much higher than this pair.

I sat down for a long interview with Steve Ritchie Pinball designer extraordinaire at Pintastic NE 2022 day 1 in Sturbridge ma at the Sturbridge Host Hotel

The greatest thing about the man and this interview is the joy he clearly has in the hobby and the game that has no diminished over the decades.

Here are a few shots and interviews from day one of Pintastic NE 2022

There is one in the extra ball lounge but the line to get to it is always long

The Weird Al game was here too

of course not all that is here is pinball, there are some classic video games and memorabilia here to wit:

Like me the folks from the Bottomless pit of treasures have not missed a pintastic

Speaking of someone who is at every Pintastic

Gabe noted I looked a tad tired as well. He must be right because I crashed in my room and slept like a log for 10 hours

I’ll be putting up individual posts of my interviews with Steve Ritchie and Todd Tuckey but lets close this post with the coolest image of the day

You don’t get cooler than a designer playing one of his own games
