Vivek Murthy, the Surgeon General under Joe Biden, issued one of the most alarming and tyrannical proposals ever issued by any federal government official.  This proposal, which is intended to combat our nonexistent plague of loneliness and isolation, is the type of madness that would be all too common is North Korea, Communist China, or the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin.

Most of us have not heard of this insane proposal,  I would not have if it wasn’t for this article: To Address Loneliness, The Feds Want To Control Your Friends (thefederalist.com)

US. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy recently released an advisory titled “Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation.” It warns that social isolation is a major public health problem. The 81-page document presents six government-directed “pillars” of action to address the health hazards of social isolation.

On the surface, these six directives may look innocuous, but they present a clear and present danger to the autonomy of our private lives and relationships. The project is potentially so massive in scope that it’s not an overstatement to say it threatens to regulate our freedom of association in ways we never could have imagined.

This proposal is the most unconstitutional proclamation ever issued by any administration.  It turns the Constitution completely on its head,  reaching down to control aspects of life that no other administration ever dreamed of controlling.

The Constitution does not grant the federal government the authority to regulate any aspect of life inside any state.  The federal government granted itself that authority when it grossly distorted the plain meaning of the Interstate Commerce Clause.  Look at how far this proposal strays from the original meaning of the Constitution.

The first stated goal is to “strengthen social infrastructure in local communities.” It defines “social infrastructure” as the regular events and institutions that make up community life, and says the federal government should both fund local organizations and direct how they’re structured, including their locations. This can only mean that all local communities must answer to the federal bureaucracy in the quest to strengthen social connections among people.

The advisory warns that participation is mandatory if the plan is to work: “It will take all of us — individuals, families, schools, and workplaces, health care and public health systems, technology companies, governments, faith organizations, and communities — working together…”

This next article, Feds Sketch Blueprint For Regulating Everyone’s Private Life (thefederalist.com), documents just how utterly tyrannical this proposal is.

The advisory foreshadows an unprecedented invasion of private spaces by the federal government that could completely undermine our most fundamental freedoms. If fully implemented, the project could place the federal government in de facto control of your local community and social associations of every kind. It also threatens to dictate what you can say, what values you should have, and what associations are acceptable. It seems poised to reinforce that control with surveillance.

The project also calls for mass compliance with leftist agenda items embedded within the report. Here’s a choice quote: “government has a responsibility to use its authority to monitor and mitigate the public health harm caused by policies, products and services that drive social disconnection. … Diversity, equity, inclusion, [DEI] and accessibility are critical components of any such strategy.” This can only result in the perpetuation of social hostilities and coercion inherent in DEI policies.

Stolen elections most definitely have the most negative consequences.  If this is actually implemented, there is no turning back.  Unfortunately I have no faith that the Republican Party will lift a single finger to fight this tyranny.

One of the reasons why the left is so worried about Elon Musk taking over twitter is that censorship of the customer only works if everyone is going along. If there is no well traveled public platform where the word can break out then you can’t control the message (which is why the left took Trump rallies off of TV).

It’s even worse for a business. If you’re business model involves trust, ie the public trusting you with your money, the people need to know that:

  1. Their money will be available when they want it
  2. You won’t steal it

Apparently Paypal’s new “I’m going to take your money if you say or post something we don’t like” policy tends to violate that basic rule.

The report sparked outrage online, with many people tweeting pledges to dump the online payment facilitator. Particularly chilling was the fact that the policy said determinations of what could be deemed “misinformation,” or a threat to the “wellbeing” of other users was to be at the “sole discretion” of PayPal. The now-aborted policy said users could be liable for “damages” — including the removal of $2,500 “debited directly from your PayPal account” per offense.

And once you get a few high profile people with 3.1 million follower like this:

Or someone like this:

the real comedy is that Twitter attempted to hide this tweet so I could not access via Elon Musk reply

Or to put it another way, even with Paypal claiming this was an “error” and insisting this is not a pending policy if that was YOUR money would you trust it in these people’s hands?

Marcus has 100k followers Musk has 108+ million if only a tiny portion of those people say 1 / 100 of 1% decide they do not trust paypal what do you think happens?

Can you say “Bank Run”?

I suspect Paypal is going though the online equivalent of a bank run and I also suspect it’s not going to stop over a retraction, particularly if there are alternatives to paypal out there that people can use, from Donorbox to Glorifi that do not take your money if they don’t like what you say or think.

Well the bottom line isn’t pretty because Paypal is about to discover the 2nd lesson of dictating how customers should think or else.

It’s much harder to regain lost trust then it was initially to build it.

Closing thought are paypal deposits FDIC insured?

In a post earlier today I talked about how corruption has a lot to do with the failures of Russia in their War vs Ukraine and also how the media protecting them helped preserve this corruption.

Don Surber is a retired newspaperman who writes a very good blog at donsurber.blogspot.com and has for a lot of years. A few days back he wrote a good, but not all that provocative post about the corruption at the FBI. A couple of days ago in his daily update of the news closed with this:

FINALLY, I received this email from Blogger.com:

“Your post titled ‘How to end the FBI’ has been deleted.” No reason. No rhyme. No appeal. Just deleted. The email cited community standards but the community has no say in what those standards are, so they are by definition not community standards.

Readers can still read it here, and decide for themselves if it meets our community standards.

Meanwhile, I started a substack — donsurber.substack.com Guess what the first post is….

This tells me that none of this is happening in a vacuum and that it will either end it a collapse of this corruption or a collapse of our freedoms.

If anything confirms the need for this novena, confirms the choice of St. Matthew as the best patron for it.

So let’s go out on a high note of prayer.

St. Matthew Novena - Day 9
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Dear Lord, we thank You for giving us St. Matthew as an example of holiness. Help us to imitate the devotion to You he showed in his years of service to Your Church.

St. Matthew, you were called by Jesus to leave behind your old life as a tax collector and follow Him. After this, you devoted the rest of your life to following and serving Him.

Please bring my petitions before Christ Whom you served so faithfully!

You wrote of Jesus’ life and ministry in your Gospel so that others could come to know Him. You devoted the rest of your life to preaching the Good News and helping to establish the Church.

Pray for me, that I may be as faithful a servant of God and His Church as you were. Pray that I may always be eager to put my gifts to use serving God.

Please also pray for the FBI agents involved in the arrest of Mark Houck.

St. Matthew, pray for us!

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

There have been brief moments when justice has been done concerning what has gone on in the last two years. The dismissal of Peter Strzok was one of them.

A draft of his termination letter has been leaked and to say it is devastating is the understatement of the year.

There is more at the link but the sad thing is that this letter not withstanding this gentlemen’s action are rapidly becoming the norm rather than the exception.

Which is why we are now on day 8 of the Novena:

St. Matthew Novena - Day 8
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Dear Lord, we thank You for giving us St. Matthew as an example of holiness. Help us to imitate the virtue he showed in holding fast to his Faith even to the point of death.

St. Matthew, we know few details about your life after the Ascension of Jesus into Heaven, but we know that you continued to serve God and His Church through writing and preaching.

Please continue to bring my petitions before the throne of God!

It is believed that you were forced to flee Judea because of the persecution of Christians there. Though details of your death aren’t known for certain, Tradition holds that you gave up your life for the Faith as a martyr.

Pray for me, that I may always be courageous in my practice of the Faith, no matter the cost. Pray that I might have the courage to hold fast to my Faith even to the point of death if necessary.

Please also pray for the FBI agents involved in the Mark Houck arrest.

St. Matthew, pray for us!

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.
