I didn’t own any of them

Gamedaily lists the video game systems that never made it. I only remember Intellivision and that’s because of George Plimpton’s commercials (plus there weren’t a lot of game systems in those days.)

Since my son collects old systems I’m surprised he never asked for any of them.

How are the Three Stooges like the Godfather?

You can watch both over and over and never get sick of them. Particularly if you are a man and especially if you are a Sicilian man.

This applies to the first two Godfather movies, the Third actually isn’t a bad movie but the other ones are SO good that it really hurts the other one by comparison. I think the third movie really seals the tragedy of Michael Corleone.

Morning Joe late

Still no Joe and still giving the protests and protesters more credence than they deserve.

7:18 a.m. Barnicle asked about where they came from and who they are. A lot of locals and various groups such as student groups and unemployed. Plus 1000 “professional” protesters.

7:19 a.m. The plan is to form a human chain and keep the protesters contained.

7:21 a.m. Apparently Willie’s sister won an award for a sports documentary.

7:23 a.m. Isn’t the idea of the banks getting along with our money a good thing?

7:25 a.m. They lost the PR battle so who cares about the substance says Todd. They are not getting attention but does MSNBC want to give them any anyway.

7:27 a.m. Mika is defending fiscal responsibility and the values of the republican budget in that respect.

7:28 a.m. The republican budget “hurts” people says Barnicle. I’m shocked SHOCKED.

7:34 a.m. He is in charge, Crammer is declaring the end to the depression.

7:40 a.m. Are we creating a new bubble? Crammer says they are doing everything right? Is this Stewart muzzling him talking?

7:48 a.m. More climate change nonsense.

7:55 a.m. Legalize and tax pot? Then will come the lawyers and the Tax law suit.

8:02 a.m. Capitalism with a Banana republic T-Shirt that one nails it.

8:07 a.m. If the Bushes violated protocol with the Queen then maybe it would be considered more interesting, then again the idea that President Bush would violate protocol or act in a disrespectful way is so atypical that it isn’t worth mentioning.

8:27 a.m. Nobody likes extra spending but…

8:36 a.m. “What did you Do Donny rent an alarm clock?”

Right idea but a little shy of the mark

The president’s gift to the queen is getting a lot of flack. An Ipod does seem tacky but they were actually on the right track but they were a bit short.

What they could have done to turn their ipod from kitch into class would have been to have the video not just of her last visit, but of ALL her US visits over the last 50 years. And maybe tack on one or two of her father’s (World War II) wartime speeches.

That way it would have been a technological album of the relationship between the US and England during her reign. That would have been a really cool mix between modern technology and traditional gifts. It would have been classy.

Oh well we have 3 1/2 years or so to do it right.
