Today example comes vis Life Doctor Who and Combom:

Earlier today, I posted Digital Spys spoof story about The Bride of Davros. If you Google for it, its all over the internet, however…

IMDB seem to think its true, check it out. They claim filming begins in March :)

The spoof story is here. In the story it actually identifies itself as a spoof:

Breaking news… we interrupt this news bulletin to report that the above story is absolute fabricated codswallop of the highest order. Yet it’s not too far detached from some of the bizarre casting rumours that have surrounded the world of Doctor Who since the BBC revived it several years ago.

That didn’t prevent this post on the usually reliable IMDB:

Paris Hilton to play the ‘Bride of Davros’

18 January 2009 12:00 AM, PST | From Digitalspy | See recent digitalspy news

Paris Hilton has signed up for a leading role in one of the upcoming Doctor Who specials in 2009 entitled ‘The Bride Of Davros’. An insider on the hit show stated: “Paris is a major casting coup for the show and really raises the bar. We’ve been waiting to find the right role for her for some time, and she was our first choice to portray the shady temptress who will lure Dalek creator Davros down the aisle. “The BBC really hope to boost the profile of Doctor Who in the United States and when we learnt that Paris is as fond of Daleks as she is of Chihuahuas then we knew we were on to a winner.” Hilton has previously appeared in the films Zoolander and The House Of Wax, but this will make her first dramatic role in TV. Filming is scheduled to begin in March and the 60-minute special,

When reading something on the net always think twice, otherwise you might even believe Hamas won the war.

If you don’t know who Davros is go here or if you prefer a visual clip here it is.

If you don’t know anything about Doctor Who start here or here and just keep reading.

Some Doctor Who fans in the US may not be aware of it but Catherine Tate aka Donna Noble was long established as a sketch comediane before she ever took on her role in Doctor Who. The nearest US equivalent would be Whoopi Goldberg becoming a regular on Star Trek the Next Generation except that Ms. Goldberg fame was on the big screen.

Her Catherine Tate Show is just very funny as she plays a bewildering array of regular characters of all types. It is now showing on BBC America these days.

Here are two clips from yesterday’s show to wet your whistle:

Dr. Who Fans will recognize a second face on this one.

It’s definitely worth your while.

Heh Heh Heh my evil Dr Who plan progresses

My cunning plan to spread the gospel of Big Finish doctor who episodes progresses.

I let her listen to the end of The Girl Who Never was and the First few minutes of The Condemned. She was intrigued.

I have loaned Big Finish Cd’s number 16-19 Storm Warning, Sword of Orion, The Stones of Venice and Minuet in Hell all featuring the 8th Doctor and Charley Pollard to one of my friend’s teenage daughters.

With any luck I will have created another Big Finish fan who will go for the CD’s as much as me. And if she likes them she’ll tell her friends and so on and so on and so on.

Thus my cunning plan to assure that sales of Big Finish episodes will continue into old age is assured!

Lousy Timing

Well my subscription to Big Finish’s Doctor Who series has run out. The Timing is pretty bad because there are some really cool things coming up.

First there there is the 3 part Key to Time 2 series featuring the 5th doctor.

Next there is The companion chronicles mini series featuring Polly, The Brigadier and Thomas Brewster in his stolen Tardis. (Takes place between Haunting of Thomas Brewster and The Boy That Time Forgot). These will be 10 minute episodes starting in April at the end of the regular Cd’s.

Lastly a one shot called An Earthly child as the subscription bonus in December Featuring Paul McGann as the 8th doctor and Carole Ann Ford as Susan Foreman. No word on if it is an adaption of the novel.

If I’m very lucky I’ll have a job fast and be able to restart my sub right away. If not then before April so I can subscribe to get the 2nd section.

Otherwise it’s Mike’s comics as funds permit. Their blog is here.
