The 4th Doctor: A Lost mine, A phony map are people still falling for that old guff I mean are they?

Dr. Who The Ribos Operation Episode 2 1978

2nd Verse same as the 1st

I’m Henery the Eighth, I Am British song 1910

I have only one thing to say about the latest breathless: We’ve got Trump!” story that’s rushing through the media and the MSM.

Are liberals really going to fall for this schtick again? Are they actually going to pin their hopes on this stuff and run forward to kick the football only to have it pulled away at the very last minute?

Granted as a Three Stooges fan I have an affinity for the same joke repeated over and over and find it just as funny the last time as the first so the end result here is going to be very pleasurable for me but don’t forget there is an old saying that insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Even if you grant that as they have no accomplishments, no viable plans and candidates that don’t dare talk the economy because Trump has delivered for THEIR base what Obama only promised they have to pin their hopes on something but really this BS?

At least it will prove my pinned tweet once again.

Oh BTW you’ll note I haven’t even linked to the base story, the reason is because after this falls through in a month or two or three there will be another such story and I’ll be able to pin this to the top and save myself a days writing or as the quote above says, 2nd verse same as the 1st.

Cue Ghost:

Update: Ok I admit it needed the full song:

The MSM Trump song (Must Credit DaTechGuy & DaTechGuyblog)

🎵”…I’m the MSM I am!

I’m going to get Trump yes I am
thought I’d got ‘im many times before

but now I’ve got ‘im, yep I’m sure
Oh Drat I missed him! Next time, NEXT TIME
I’m the MSM I am

I’m MSM I am!

2nd Verse same as the 1st….🎵

Are you worried about a spike in oil prices because of the attack on the Saudi oil fields? Right Wing Granny isn’t:

I have no idea what impact this will have on world oil prices. I do know that Saudi Arabia will work to repair the damage as soon as possible. I have no doubt that Iran is violating the sanctions on its oil exports, so if the price of oil rises significantly, Iran may be able to pull itself out of its current economic difficulties and calm its population. America will continue to prosper as oil prices rise because we are now a net exporter of oil rather than a net importer. Because of the policies of President Trump, we are in a very different situation than we were during the oil crisis of the 1970’s.

The real irony of course is that if oil prices DO go up it makes other fracking locations viable that can be re-opened. Of course if Hillary and the Democrats had been elected this wouldn’t be an issue and we would now be in crisis

Iran Russia and China have already lost, their best chance to win the next one is for Trump to lose re-election

Those rules of economics apply to hate crimes too, or put simply if the supply of hate crimes is not sufficient to keep up with demand, then more must be produced artificially:

A former NFL player has been accused of trashing a restaurant and an ice cream shop he owned near Atlanta to make it look like a hate crime.
Gwinett County police say they found the n-word, “monkey,” “MAGA” and
swastikas scrawled on the walls and booths of the two businesses, Create & Bake Pizza and Coughman’s Creamery in Lawrenceville.

Edawn Coughman, 31, of Buford, was arrested Thursday on charges of false reporting a burglary, insurance fraud and concealing a license plate before being bonded out of jail, police said.

Is this an aspiring Kaepernick or just an insurance fraud? Either way it just goes to show that making the NFL and the good paydays that come with it doesn’t guarantee you’re set for life.

There’s an old joke about a guy losing his keys and searching under a lamp a block away because he can see better there. Fisherville Mike is reminding me of it:

If you’re worried about mass shootings but unwilling to go door to door to look for assault rifles, it’s inevitable that virtually all of the people whom you end up disarming are people whom you didn’t need to worry about in the first place.

That of course assume’s that the goal is to stop mass shootings rather than disarm the people who might be willing to take arms against an imposed tyranny.

That’s the actual goal and to Beto & company it’s a feature not a bug.

Stacy McCain notes the irony of this case of a lesbian mom suing over a sperm bank donor not being what he claimed to be.

Danielle Rizzo doesn’t believe in any of that “Thou shalt not” stuff. No, she believes in Science! Her children didn’t need a father. All she and her lesbian “partner” needed was a sperm donor, and Science would take care of the rest. What could possibly go wrong? Only everything, it turns out, so that “her relationship collapsed” and now she and her two autistic sons are on Medicaid, living in her parents’ basement.
This story was brought to my attention by
Rational Male author Rollo Tomassi, who has a saying: “Hypergamy doesn’t care.” “Hypergamy prompts women to seek out ‘winners’, they don’t care how the man won, just that he won,” as Rollo has observed, and we see how this applies even with lesbians choosing sperm donors on the basis of online profiles. Being tall, claiming to have a master’s degree and a professional career — H898 seemed like a “winner,” and it never occurred to Danielle Rizzo to wonder about H898’s motives for becoming a sperm donor.

Maybe the church’s teaching on this stuff aren’t so foolish after all, but let’s also remember that the teaching of the church is that these two boys are children of God whose value in the eyes of God is not dependent on the origins of their birth.

There is a lot of hoopla about the death of Cokie Roberts who came from a very Democrat family out of Louisiana to become a fixture on television news, but amid all the tributes going out there is a line from her husband that is some of the best advice you’ll ever hear:

Marrying the right person is the single most important decision you’ll ever make in your life. Everything else is secondary.

That’s advice that Danielle Rizzo could have used

Hurricane Dorian predictions, from ABC News, https://s.abcnews.com/images/US/FloridaSpaghetti_hpEmbed_16x9_992.jpg

It’s like some people just want to watch the world burn. And by watch, I mean set it on fire themselves and then sit back and smugly gaze at their destruction.

The latest sad example of this is the controversy over Hurricane Dorian’s track. Dorian was a particularly nasty storm. It was big, had strong winds, and was driving into a variety of high and low pressure regions that altered its path, in some cases by hundreds of miles. So when President Trump tweets out that the hurricane is bearing down on Alabama, he’s attempting to ensure that every state is prepared.

He’s not wrong for being concerned. Here’s NOAA’s prediction at 5 pm from 29 August:

“The guidance envelope has nudged southward this cycle, with the ECMWF and HMON along the southern side, and the GFS bracketing the northern side. There has also been an increase in
along-track spread or speed differences with day 5 positions among the dynamical models ranging from near the northwestern Bahamas to the northeastern Gulf of Mexico. This appears to be the result of differences in the models’ depiction of the strength or lack thereof of the western portion of the ridge by day 5.”

NOAA Website, https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/archive/2019/DORIAN.shtml?

Read the rest of historical data here: https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/archive/2019/DORIAN.shtml?

You’ll find lots of times the models “diverge” a lot. Would you want to be caught flat-footed if the storm diverges?

If Trump used old data and put out bad gouge to the state of Alabama, then ask yourself: does it matter? Was it a bad thing to be prepared for the worst? Is it worth tearing him down over? And if he hadn’t done it and the hurricane had turned that way, would he be criticized for not preparing?

The last part that gets me is this sort of non-controversy spreads around the world. News sources in Norway are jumping on this and calling it a fake weather forecast:

“In VG’s editorial, Per Olav Ødegård stated that “good economic times are Donald Trump’s best card in the election campaign. But the economy can also be his Achilles heel”. Ødegård commented that Donald Trump depends on good economic growth in the United States for his re-election campaign. Kenneth Lund and Terje Erikstad shared the same opinion in two pieces in Dagens Næringsliv published on the same day. Erikstad further speculated that “when Donald Trump is willing to fake a weather forecast, will he also fake economic statistics?”

Yup, this model looks fake:

Or the one at the top of the page.

President Trump does plenty of controversial things, but let’s stop pretending that being concerned for the welfare of a state in the path of a hurricane is somehow contentious.

Sometimes DaTechGuy’s Laws of Media Outrage are Violated

Posted: September 14, 2019 by datechguy in media

In Science a “Law” is something that is always true, outside of science in criminal law for example, or moral law, people violate it all the time.

That’s why we have confession.

DaTechGuy’s Laws of Media Outrage are more like the moral or criminal laws rather than the laws of science because while it’s rare, very rare, sometimes, just sometimes the media doesn’t follow them.

For example:

A man trashed his pizza restaurant and ice cream shop near Atlanta to fake a racially motivated burglary so he could file an insurance claim, police said.

Gwinnett County police officers responded just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday after a 911 call reporting a man damaging the businesses, according to a Friday news release. The caller said the man was driving a black Chevrolet Silverado without a license plate.

Officers stopped a truck matching that description as it was leaving the shopping center and noticed televisions attached to brackets with damaged drywall in the back, the release says. They learned the driver, 31-year-old Edawn Louis Coughman, owned the businesses.

I found this via this link on twitter.

What’ really shocking is that it’s in complete violation against DaTechGuy’s 3rd law of media outrage which states:

The MSM’s elevation and continued classification of any story as Nationally Newsworthy rather than only of local interest is in direct correlation to said story’s current ability to affirm any current Democrat/Liberal/Media meme/talking point, particularly on the subject of race or sexuality.

ABC could have classified this as a local story and perhaps it has been when it comes to TV, but at least when it comes to twitter, ABC took a newsworthy story against their narrative and made it a national story.

They deserve credit for it, I gave them some on twitter and the rest they’re getting here.

Final thought, Kinda sad that when a news organization acts like it consists of actual journalists rather than advocates it’s rare enough to be newsworthy.
