Prediction: Donald Trump will win tonight’s Presidential Debate

After watching yesterday’s Democrat debate with a strong performance by Marianne Williamson and a lot of shouting by Bernie and Warren and the reactions from it I have come to the conclusion that the winner of tonight debate will be the same as the winner of last nights debate:

Namely Donald Trump

First of all I see no reason why we will see anything different in terms of positions from these folks than we did last night.

They will all endorse the idea that students who foolishly borrowed a fortune to pay for majors like women’s studies, transgender studies and Aqua Team Hunger Force studies while spending must time partying should be excused from paying back their debts while people who never owned slaves, whose parents never owned slaves and who grandparents weren’t even in this country when slavery was legal are obliged to pay billions to people who never were enslaved and whose parents never were enslaved.

They will argue that people who have never committed a crime with a gun bought legally must be placed in legal jeopardy for the acts of people who violated laws already on the books.  That the NRA an organization of legal gun owners is responsible for violence while the drug gangs that Democrat pols in Chicago count on for muscle is not.

They will claim that the economy that has put more blacks, women and Hispanics to work than any other time in our history is only benefiting the rich, that National Healthcare systems that lead to long waits and drive many people to America for live saving care is wonderful and will insist that pointing out that the city of Baltimore, a majority black city is a disaster is racist, but letting that city fall into that state and keeping it and the mostly black community that lives there in that state is not.

For these reasons Donald Trump can’t help but win tonight’s debate but there are several people who might make it to 2nd place.

If Joe Biden can come out of this debate without looking like an inept fool he might come in 2nd.

If Kamila Harris can come out of this debate with another bounce she might come in 2nd.

If any of the mid tier candidates like Corey Booker can manage to make a blgger splash than either, they could come in 2nd.

And if any of the bottom tier candidates like Tulsi Gabbard can get enough oomph out of the debate to qualify for the next round they could come in second.

And of course a bad performance by Biden, Harris, or Booker has the potential to make them a big loser with only the 2nd tier candidates who do not break out raking possibly below them.

But you can take it to the bank.  Tonight’s big debate winner will be Donald Trump.  Count on it!

Yesterday Instapundit linked to this piece at the Hollywood Reporter on how the A-List crowd mixed with Jeffrey Epstein after his conviction and Stephen Green speaks thus:

I’d take their apparent umbrage more seriously had they covered the story with this much energy any time from, say, 2009 to last Friday.

This highlights a truth that a lot of people on the left know but are unlikely to say. It is this:


If Hillary Clinton was elected President of the United States in 2016 not a person in the media would have dared to write or say a word against Jeffrey Epstein him and the state of New York, run by Democrats would certainly not not have touched him because they would have known that Jeffrey Epstein was under the protection of the President of the United States.

just like Harvey Weinstein was.

I have a question for the left that is essentially same one I posed at the time of the Weinstein revelations (which were only revelations to the public, not to the leftists in the know) and it’s this.

How many of you would gladly and without hesitation deny justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein (and Harvey Weinstein) if it meant reversing the results of last presidential election?

Given what we’ve seen I suspect that the answer is practically all of them.

The Irrelevance of Presidential Likability

From a recent conversation:

Them: “I didn’t vote for President Obama either time. You know that. But I like him.”

Me: “Really?”

Them: “I can’t stand Trump! I know you’re on the Trump Team.”

The Trump Team? We’re on teams now?

Me: “I’m not on the ‘Trump Team.’ I’m on the side of our country. And President Trump has done many good things for it.”

Them (scoffs): “What has he done?”

Me: His policies have brought about lower unemployment. Black unemployment is at its lowest since …”

Them (interrupts): “NO, IT’S NOT! IT’S THE SAME AS IT WAS WHEN OBAMA WAS PRESIDENT!”

That’s when I knew I had to compose this post. But before I did, I created a page containing links to my many posts during the 2016 presidential campaign in which I expressed skepticism about Donald Trump’s intentions. In short, I thought he was playing conservatives and was in cahoots with Hillary Clinton to get her into the White House.

There are a lot of links on that page, so if you don’t have time to read them, don’t worry. But, I don’t believe in hiding my errors.

Also on that page are indications of my evolution into becoming a supporter of now President Trump.

Do I like him? It’s a question that does not matter. He’s not my friend or my boss. He’s not going to marry into my family nor will anyone in my family marry into his. I like that he is mostly good for our country, I like that he wants that which is good for it, and I like that he isn’t all talk.

I could post the many forms of beneficial action which President Trump has taken, but I want to focus on the most recent topic since the majority of my American family lives in the South and Southwest: Illegal immigration.

Yes, I’ve ranted about it before but, as I type this, we are seeing the beginning of results of this president putting Mexico’s feet to the fire.

Mexico has long been allowing MILLIONS of citizens of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to walk through its southern border and sojourn through its land en route to the United States.

And why wouldn’t Mexico allow this? Why the flock not? Hey, it’s a chance to shake down these people, rape them, rape their children and turn them into drug mules. And, just spit-balling here, it’s also a chance for Mexican banks to get their hands on monies belonging to international organizations like Pueblo Sin Fronteras (PSF). The Chicago-based PSF has been at the forefront of bringing Central Americans through Mexico to the United States since 2008.

One thing: this flood of illegal aliens has been nothing but a hindrance to the well-being of Americans who are black.  Did I mention that the person I was talking to is black?

But what really got to me was the notion of Barack Obama’s “likability.”

I didn’t want to ask why this person likes the former president because we were already past the point of reasoning together. But I tried to think of what was likable about Former President Obama versus the things that would cause a person to dislike President Trump. Of course, that didn’t take long.

One president talks in a calm, even manner. He’s youthful, slim and has close-cropped salt-and-pepper hair. He will compliment you and try to assuage your doubts.

The other president is old, a little overweight, and funny-looking; that hair, though. And he speaks bluntly and will hurt your feelings.

It would be easy to like the “likable” one, if we didn’t also know that, as a state senator, he voted against saving babies who are born following botched abortions.

… if he hadn’t said that wouldn’t “punish” one of his own daughters with a baby, if one of them had become pregnant before age 18.

… if we didn’t know about Benghazi

… if we didn’t know about Operation Fast and Furious.

… if we didn’t know what he did for Iran.

(If I listed everything that President Likable did to harm this country and its people, this post would be endless.)

But, because he fornicated us with a smile, he’s likable.

Conversely, it’s okay to dislike the one who does almost everything alleged conservatives say they want and who, among many other things, is executing effective action to secure this nation’s borders and strengthen its economy.

Fact is, most people will accept tyranny if the tyrant blows smoke up their a**es.

And will hate the harsh one with the old man hair;  the one who tries to fix things.

Even the things they care about.

Even while they are prospering.

Thinking about this, I’m glad that Jesus never told His followers to like their neighbor as themselves, since I spend a lot of time disliking my neighbors — even the ones that I love.

Even the ones who are unable to discern friend from foe or good from evil.

Blame the Silly Seattle Voters for their Snakes

One of the favorite quotes of President is from Al Wilson’s song the Snake whose climax comes when the woman laments the deadly snake biting her after she had nursed it back to health and the snake replies:

Oh shut up, silly woman,” said the reptile with a grin

This instantly came to mind when I read this story about the oh so woke City Attorney of Seattle and the director of public defense absolutely OUTRAGED over the idea that a plea deal which gave no jail time after a violent assault by a 72 time offender was rejected by a judge who instead gave him the maximum of 364 days in jail saying:

“As a judge, I have a duty and responsibility to protect the citizens of Seattle and impose a sentence that I think is going to provide protection,” McKenna said in court. “I don’t think this court is willing to risk having someone else assaulted.”

The two leveled several accusations against the judge which he categorically denied and were so outrageous that even the Seattle times called them out as BS.

I was mentioning this to a Haitian fellow at work who couldn’t get over the idea of a 72 time offender (14 being felonies) being loose and wondered about what is going on with the government in Seattle my answer was pretty direct. The people of the city were getting the government they deserve.

Seattle isn’t Venezuela, it isn’t China, it isn’t Somalia it isn’t even England at the time of Richard the Lionheart. The voters of Seattle holding free election have put into place the government that has let such things slide for years and have encouraged and enabled this situation. Those same people are regularly given the chance to change this government and have chosen not to even when the situation in the city has become intolerable. How intolerable, as one police officer said:

“People come here because it’s called Free-attle and they believe if they come here they will get free food, free medical treatment, free mental health treatment, a free tent, free clothes and will be free of prosecution for just about everything; and they’re right.”

When you elect people whose primary purpose is to protect those who prey on you and your city and who publicly state positions along those lines you have no business being angry when they act accordingly.

The people of Seattle has the government and the city they deserve and it will not change until they decide they deserve something different.

It’s on them.
