Arming our enemies: From scrap metal being sold to Japan before World War II to $6 billion for Iran

Here’s an almost forgotten slice of history.

In 1939, Chinese Americans protested the loading of scrap iron in Oregon on a ship bound for Japan.

As you’ll see the link, there is a photograph of the protest “This iron is for bullets” and “Your wives and babies may be next,” are among the messages on the picketers’ signs.

The protesters were right.

As you of course know, two years later, Japan not only attacked Pearl Harbor, but also Guam and the Philippines, both US possessions.

Before those attacks, Japan seized Manchuria and invaded the rest of China in 1937. The Japanese committed numerous atrocities against the Chinese during the Second World War, most notoriously the Rape of Nanjing.

Last month, on September 11 no less, the Biden Administration announced it was releasing $6 billion in frozen funds to Iran, that was part of swap of American hostages held by the terrorist regime in exchange for some Iranian prisoners held here.

Swap? I call it a ransom payment.

The appeasement-minded Biden administration at the time claimed that the $6 billion can only be used for humanitarian reasons. Even if that is true, which I doubt it is, the definition of charity in the West is remarkably different than how jihadists define it.

In 2008, five former leaders of the Holy Land Foundation, which claimed to be a charity, were convicted of sending $12 million to Hamas.

Okay, yeah, I get it, the $6 billion probably isn’t in the hands of the radical mullahs in Iran yet, but like someone who knows he’s about to collect a huge inheritance, Iran is now financially confident–and it’s emboldened by Joe Biden’s weakness.

Yesterday, Hamas, the Iranian-funded terrorist group, attacked Israel in the deadliest strike against the Jewish state since the Yom Kippur War.

The Iranian mullahs call Israel “the little Satan” and America “the Big Satan.”

America may be next.

UPDATE 6:00pm EDT:

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Iran greenlit and helped plan Hamas’ attack on Israel.

Apparently Hurricane Hillary caused flooding at Dodger Stadium an excellent reminder that while God promised not to end the world by flood he gave no such assurances for Chavez Ravine.

Might I suggest that LA operate a program to make sure there are at least 10 faithful devout Catholics in the city at all times (Any Biden or Pelosi doesn’t count).

Speaking of Faithful Catholics it’s nice to know I have one for my Bishop:

The Diocese of Worcester, which is about 45 miles west of Boston, announced last week that Bishop Robert McManus earlier this summer approved a policy titled “Catholic Education and the Human Person” for all schools under its jurisdiction starting this fall.

The policy states: “Pope Francis has repeatedly stressed the importance of a proper understanding of our sexuality, warning of the challenge posed by ‘the various forms of an ideology of gender that denies the difference and reciprocity in nature of a man and a woman and envisages a society without sexual differences.’” …

Students under the policy are expected to act according to their biological sex, including in school sports, uniforms and locker rooms.

He’s going to catch hell here in Massachusetts but he’ll help avoid hell both for himself and those under his charge.

Donald Trump has announced that he will not just be skipping one debate but won’t be attending ANY debates with his GOP rivals.

While many say this is a sound decision as he will not be challenged on things like Fauci (which DeSantis et/al will eat him alive on) the problem here is that if he doesn’t absolutely wipe out his opponents fast then any decision to debate later will look like desperation.

Trump has a pretty good record as president and he should be spending every single day comparing the Trump years to the Biden years. I think making that point bluntly on stage with the rest of the GOP candidates on stage is a winner for him.

If even half of what is being said about the Ukrainian war on the Tucker Carlson show is true the disaster that this war is going to produce is horrifying.

This is yet another cost of the stolen election in the US. If this was Trump’s 2nd term Russia would not be in Ukraine today, but then again lots of elites would not have the graft they have made off of this war.

Cowardice in not stopping the steal has incredible costs and will continue to cost more.

It has taken less than a week for the governor of Hawaii to blame the fires in Maui on climate change.

What’s really amazing about this is that compared to Biden words in Maui he sounds sane.

But the craziest thing about it all is that I suspect when November 2024 comes along Hawaii will still vote for the left because they’re rather risk being burned out of house and home than vote for a republican or even worse a conservative.

A Very Basic Question that some in the GOP Need to Answer:

The hair on fire commentary on the Trump indictment continues but for all the bluster from the left and NeverTrump on Trump as criminal or idiot and all the anger on the right over folks who steal election proving to be dishonest in other things not to mention the double standards being applied, there is one argument keeps getting advanced that I think is nonsense so I ask this question:

In what way does the Corrupt and dishonorable actions of the Biden Administration in moving forward on the indictment of President Trump automatically mean that Trump is the best qualified candidate for me to choose for the GOP nomination for president?

There are plenty of reasons to support Trump for the nomination, based on my analysis at the time of Biden Inauguration I had him ranked 4th among president behind Washington, Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt. Since then the revelations of the extraordinary steps taken to hinder his presidency have only added glow to his accomplishments in the sense that it makes it more extradentary that he accomplished anything let alone what he managed. On the minus side you have his failure to check Fauci and company which proved to be a huge mistake harmful for the nation. Taken in all I still rank him 4th or maybe even third all time and that kind of record is certainly a reason to vote for him.

But being oppressed by democrats and opposed by NeverTrump is not, particularly if there is a better alternative. If we are going to choose a nominee based on the unjust persecution by the Biden Administration then there are several pro-life Catholics and J6 Prisoners who deserve the nomination over Trump.

While there is not a GOP candidate in the race I can’t vote for and a few who I might vote for someday. At this moment my choice is between Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis. I’ve noted the case for Trump above and it’s a good one. Personally I’m leaning toward DeSantis on these grounds:

  1. His record on the state level is as impressive as Trump’s on the Federal one
  2. There is (fairly or unfairly) a group on uninformed Americans who will vote against Trump simply for being Trump (That’s not fair but neither is life) thus giving DeSantis a better chance of winning or at least making the election slightly harder to steal
  3. He can serve two terms if he wins in 2024
  4. While Trump is in fantastic shape for his age DeSantis is younger and less likely to physically decline in office.

DeSantis hasn’t closed the deal for me yet and Trump of course has his excellent record and his ability to bring out a base of excited voters in his favor, most votes every in history other than one candidate whose “magic ballots” that appear after midnight are still suspect. As I’ve said before Trump vs DeSantis as the nominee is like choosing between Ted Williams & Stan Musial to start in left for your team. Both are excellent players with excellent records and proven results but different styles it’s a question of which one is likely to help your current team win a particular game.

It’s not going to be because the Biden Administration are a bunch of corrupt asses and choose to act as such, nor to piss of the left and Never Trump, and anyways given their temperament they’ll be pissed off anyways. Even the most milquetoast GOP candidate can do it.

I’d feel comfortable voting for either of these men in the primary or the general but when I make my decision it’s going to be based on my judgement on which candidate is the best for the job and most likely to win period, and frankly you should too and if my judgement is different than yours, that’s OK.

For those of you eager to see what the sitting president does about banks suddenly failing let me remind you of something.

Three years ago some of us warned that allowing an election to be stolen rather than confronting the problem head on might have long term consequences that would shake the nation. But we were ignored, or cancelled or imprisoned

We ended up with mandates, drag queen story hours, an FBI acting like the left’s private gestapo, disaster in Afghanistan and War in Ukraine. And now bank failures while the crooks involved in this are amassing generational wealth.

All because people were afraid to make waves.

And if the bank with the woke risk assessor more interested in pride events than, you know managing risk or and Signature bank with former Democrat rep Barney Frank on the board fails, oh well.

Since both of these banks are Democrat donors or connected let me tell you how this is going to endvia Yes Prime Minister:

Sir Humphrey Appleby: But if you knew they were crooks

Sir Desmond Glasebrook: We didn’t

Sir Humphrey Appleby: But you could have made enquiries..

Sir Desmond Glasebrook: You don’t make enquiries of that sort in the city. They seemed like decent chaps and decent chaps don’t check up on decent chaps to see if they are behaving like decent chaps.

Sir Desmond Glasebrook: Well there’s only one answer. The Bank of England must bail out Philips Berrison. No publicity keep it in the family, and that way we get our money back.

You can bet your bottom dollar that Joe Biden’s bosses will make sure that these guys get every penny back to preserve confidence in the financial system because they are friends of the left .and if you and I have to pay for it, oh well.

“The government spent all weekend so they could bail out rich politically connected investors. Compare this to East Palestine Ohio where it took the government 3 weeks to even pretend to give a damn. Seriously the government worked over a weekend to just help out rich tech investors. Contrast that with 3 weeks before the feds did anything to even pretend to help out a community dealing with a massive chemical spill.”
