This weekend Jonah Goldberg noted that a lot of people on the right were comparing Trump to Christ and weren’t taking into account the idea that he cheated on his wife with a porn star.

Well there are two things I’d like to say to that. While Jonah is of course free do disagree on the merits of either verdict the fact is we compare Trump to Christ because Trump we believe both were found guilty unjustly, not of sleeping around but of a completely made up bookkeeping felony, so like Christ he was unjustly found guilty. Nobody (with the possible exception of Laura Loomer) on the right compares Trump to Christ’s divinity.

Second while I do in fact find it plausible that a really rich guy decided to bang a porn star and tried to keep it quiet (frankly I’d hate to have my performance in bed judged by a professional) folks like me who under the old rules thought such things should be disqualifying were massively outvoted on said rules so until the left decides to go back to said rules we aren’t either.

We’re in the middle of a baseball season where the Redsox have a great crop of young players and at the end of a basketball season where the Celtics are in the finals with a solid shot of winning and least we forget the Pats have a new 1st round QB and an old Brady era vet to mentor him. All these things are strong temptations to have me pony up for one of various sports packages from NESN to MLB to NBA etc etc etc…

…and then June roles around and all the professional teams go out of their way to remind me that they are not on my side in the culture wars and suddenly radio and hitting a local bar/restaurant to watch a game rather then giving these guys my money becomes an attractive alternative.

My thanks to various leagues for helping me appreciate the joy of free sports.

Oh and the annual ritual of business shoving gay pride down our throats in the west while making it a point to avoid the same in the middle east continues as always, with BMW actually admitting what we all know that it’s all about the risk and reward of the mob.

Of course in a new years the Ghastly Tom Hagan math will catch up with the west and when it does the west will drop their pride campaigns faster than the Democrats dropped Israel

Speaking of a lack of principles there are quite a few GOP candidates who had been pushing their pro-life credentials in the past who suddenly find themselves willing to compromise on life to gain higher office.

Now there are no shortage of Democrats who run as republicans in red states or republican who run as dems in blue states to get power nor is there a shortage in either party of people whose primary principle is to advance their political power. And the reality is that given the number of honest men & women in politics you likely can’t get a majority without these sorts.

So when there is no other choice by all means elect them but keep such folks away from the true levers of party power because people willing to sell out their principles or their God will have little trouble selling you.

Finally episode one of the Chosen is available free and those who expected to see the aftermath of the feeding of the 5000 and the calming of the waters which closed last season might have been shocked to see they went back to Luke Chapter 1 to the Visitation as their lead.

Granted they decided to knock off John the Baptist in episode one but if there is one thing you could always be sure of in any protestant movie about Christ skips the 6th chapter of John once it reaches verse 26 the beginning of the bread to life discourses. The only exception being word for word adaptions of Gospel.

Given that The Chosen is a TV series rather than a movie there would have been more than enough time to include them but as Catholic as Jonathan Roumie is, he does not have creative control so the bread of life discourses had to go.

Don’t get me wrong, it was a good episode and I liked the juxtaposition of the Canticle of Zachariah (the Morning Prayer of the Catholic Church) with the scenes of John’s end and the reaction to it but some things never change, and if you were expecting to see The Chosen break that mold you will be mistaken.

Oh and I’d watch it via the youtube live stream because the loading time of the app seems to be very slow likely due to the sheer number of people trying to watch it there.

I have never been a fan of the Libertarian Party.  Actually, I rather despise them.  They give true Libertarians like myself a bad name.  Most of the Libertarian Party’s platform is asinine, having very little to do with actual liberty.  Only a small percentage of the membership are true Libertarians. The rest only identify as Libertarians because the think that word sounds cool.

This past week Donald Trump spoke at this year’s Libertarian Pary convention, hoping to possibly garner their endorsement.  A sizable percentage of those in attendance behaved rather childishly, they booed and raised a ruckus with kazoos that were passed out by convention organizers.  That was nothing compared to the immaturity the membership demonstrated when they chose their nominee.

For decades, the Libertarian Party was the edgier conscience of the Republican Party. It was louder and prouder about wanting a small government rather than the behemoth that Republicans helped birth.  However, libertarians still recognized that smaller government must be grounded in the Constitution and morality. For example, Ron Paul’s pro-life stance reflected the fact that constitutional liberty starts with the first spark of life. This year, however, the Libertarian Party abandoned the Constitution and nominated a presidential candidate indistinguishable from the most radical people in Biden’s base. That’s good for Trump.

There has often been animosity between Conservatives and Libertarians.  Here is one of the primary reasons.

Frankly, most people really don’t think about the Libertarian Party. Depending on their political orientation, they either resent or celebrate it when the 2-3% of votes it gets in every election harm a Republican candidate in a close race.

This election I believe the Libertarian presidential candidate will steal more votes from Biden than Trump for this reason:

Now, the Libertarian Party has gone even further down the path to irrelevance because of its chosen presidential candidate, a guy named Chase Oliver. Oliver is essentially a rehashed far-left Democrat. Indeed, he was once a Barack Obama supporter. He is gay, pro-trans, pro-abortion, pro-open borders, pro-drugs, and pro-Hamas. However, he’s all in for big government when it comes to masks, vaxes, and lockdowns.

In other words, Oliver is indistinguishable from any other member of the Democrat party. He’s not supporting a small, moral, pro-American government; he’s just a radical leftist who’s found a welcoming new niche.

This article documents the radical positions held by Mr. Oliver.  I read thru the article and came to the conclusion that he is fine with all forms of tyranny as long as the tyranny is perpetrated by private groups rather than by governments.  This includes forced masking by businesses and liberal mob rule in the form of transgender ideology.

The Babylon Bee wrote a perfect satire article summing up this farce.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Libertarian Party has concluded its convention and nominated its latest presidential candidate: a 20-foot-tall, rainbow-colored, glass bong.

The gay, oversized marijuana smoking device edged out candidates RFK Jr., Donald Trump, and Sparklepaws the Transgender Furry to secure the coveted nomination to run for President this November.

Back in 2016 I covered a Trump Rally at the DCU center in Worcester Ma a deep blue city which is not only the 2nd largest city in New England with 200,000 people but has 10 colleges the breeding ground for the left. The left had called for a massive showing of protesters. Well there was a massive showing…of Trump supporters. As for the counter protesters…

The voice you heard at the end was a protester saying “people had to work” in response to drawing 15 people.

I ended up at the press conference asking Donald Trump about it.

This is where Trump paid me the complement: “Nobody reports that but you do. That’s why I like you.” (A quote that I suspect put me on the shit list of a lot of people in the GOP, particularly here in MA but I digress.)

Fast forward 8 years..

Donald Trump schedules an event in the Bronx. Nationally known NY Dem AOC says he isn’t welcome. Various leftist groups say they are organizing a counter protest. Yet Hotair.com reports Trump draws 30,000 for an event where they were planning for 2500.

5:52 Here’s hoping Fox has it. The place looks packed – they’re saying 30,000 people already.

Yahoo, no friend of Donald Trump admits 25K

Trump rallied a crowd of what his campaign estimated to be 25,000 supporters at Crotona Park in the Bronx on Thursday, far more than the initial 3,500 it said were expected to attend. Those numbers appeared to also include those lined up outside the event – who waited hours for a shot at getting inside even after the event began.

Now that’s a good number of people, but what about counter protesters?

As I said before in Worcester MA the 2nd biggest city in New England with a population of 200,000 drew a pathetic 15 protesters against Donald Trump in 2016 . New York City not only has a population of over 8 million, 40 times that of Worcester but Joe Biden won the city by over 60 points. Furthermore nationally known Democrats and large Democrat organizations called for people to protest.

So how many people did they manage to draw for a counter protest? Lets ask the Trump hating New York Daily News:

About 200 protesters rallied against him on Claremont Parkway, which cuts through Crotona Park, some holding a sign that read, “F–k Trump, F–k Biden, the people of the Bronx, we run this s–t.”

here is some video

Doesn’t look like 200 to me but for the sake of argument let’s go with the New York Daily News’ 200 number.

Now run that number through your head for a moment. In a city of 8 million a city 40 times the size of Worcester, after 8 full years of attacks on Trump with the NY DA going after him in court and the full might of the liberal media and governments working against him 24/7 they managed to draw only 200 to protest against supposedly the most hated president since LBJ at the end of his term.

Remember the number of protesters is Worcester in 2016 was a pathetic 15 people but that’s a city 40 times smaller than New York City and before the Trump Derangement was in full bloom. To match that Worcester number proportionately they would have needed to draw 600 people in a city of 8 MILLION.

They could only manage a third of that. To put it in perspective that’s as if they had drawn only 5 people to protest Trump in Worcester way back when.

Combine that with an attendance a minimum of 10 times larger then they had anticipated per yahoo and you get a very unhappy CNN:

The Daily Mail’s report on the rally is here.

If I was running the Trump Campaign I’d hold more rallies in deep blue areas. This would force local news to cover the events and get his message out to people who thanks to the censorship of national news never hear him. It’s the type of thing that will give Democrats fits.

Or as Phil Sheridan used to say: “Ride right through them, they’re demoralized as hell!”

This is final part of my of my series on my list of the best choices for Trump as a running mate:

  • Choice one: Ron DeSantis is here.
  • Choice two: Ted Cruz is here
  • Choice Three Sarah Huckabee Sanders is here

Today I select my dark horse choice. Somebody who is no nobody’s radar who I think would be a great surprise pick. Before I officially name him (although if you read the title of the post you know) let me remind everyone there are two things that any person who wants to make this list needs to qualify.

  1. Can’t be from the same state I’m going to be slightly loose with this because “can’t be from the same state” can mean either:
    • Not born in the same state OR
    • Not living in the same state at the time of the election
  2. Must be hated by the left almost if not more than him because if he was to take a “deep state” running mate or a person like Nikki Haley he might as well, as I’ve noted before hang a target on his back with the words “assassinate me” in bright luminescent paint.

My dark horse choice, Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana

Of all the choices I have submitted this is the least likely. Senator Kennedy doesn’t have a national following, except perhaps online, he is from a state that couldn’t get more solid for Trump and at age 72 would actually give the left an advantage in terms of the age of the VP.

But Kennedy has a lot going for him

  1. His folky disarming manor disguises an incredible intellect that can analyze a situation in a flash
  2. His ability to find the key point in a situation as demonstrated in hearing after hearing would be invaluable for any administration.
  3. His style would both be effective on the stump while not overshadowing Donald Trump (an attribute that the Trump campaign would love).
  4. Based on his hearing performances I presume he has a first rate staff that can come with him in the job.
  5. Because he is not considered a strong presidential candidate on his own there is not likely to be intrigue against him as VP
  6. Can you imagine him on a debate stage with Kamala Harris? It would be criminal slaughter.

And again because of his age a selection of Kennedy would not be a defacto endorsement of any potential presidential candidate for 2028 which would be an incentive for all those potential candidates to not stab Trump in the back during a 2nd term.

If there is a weakness of all the candidates I’ve listed he is the weakest in terms of “Hated by the left so much they won’t kill Trump.” No doubt they left despises him and his manner might make them briefly consider it, but only briefly because I suspect if Trump died in office he would not only be an effective president but one who would give the left fits.

I suspect even the most idiotic leftist would figure this out before deciding to try to knock off Trump.

again he is a dark horse so I don’t think it’s likely he would be picked, but I suspect he would be a whole lot of fun.
