I have to state for the record at the begging of this article that I have never been a never Trumper.  Neither am I a Trump worshipper, although the Trump worshipers’ take on him is the more accurate of the two.  I see him for who he really is, a deeply flawed individual who did an admiral job as president. That is until the Wuhan Flu pandemic began, and he botched things rather badly.

At the beginning of the 2016 primary season, I ranked Donald Trump near the bottom of the crowded Republican field.  The instant he secured the Republican nomination I became a very outspoken Trump supporter because I knew he would do an infinitely better job than any of the Marxist Democrats.

I am a Libertarian and not all of Donald Trump’s policies are particularly Libertarian. During the 2016 primary season I ranked Rand Paul and Ben Carson well above Trump.

Donald Trump’s greatest flaw is an almost complete lack of self-control when speaking and using social media.  Too often he comes across as a non-intellectual.  He also has a very loud and abrasive personality.  At times he strayed from conservative/libertarian principles.  The media very unfairly tagged Trump as a racist and a bigot.  During his four years in office, he did a poor job picking advisors and cabinet officials, especially when it came to Chief of Staff.

Last week I tried to imagine who the perfect running mate Donald Trump could possibly chose.  I figured that that person would have to offset all of Trump’s negatives.  He would have to be an exact opposite.  The person who immediately jumped to mind was Dr. Ben Carson. Two days later I saw articles online written by authors who independently reached the same conclusions.

Here are some quotes I dug up that are proof that Dr. Ben Carson would make a fantastic president, unfortunately he lacks the charisma necessary for any individual to win elections in our media driven society.

This first quote is from Ben Carson: Obamacare worst thing ‘since slavery’ – The Washington Post

You know Obamacare is really I think the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery, and it is in a way, it is slavery in a way, because it is making all of us subservient to the government, and it was never about health care. It was about control.

This next quote is one of my favorites: http://www.cnsnews.com/video/newsbusters/dr-ben-carson-we-american-people-are-not-each-other-s-enemies

I want people to understand that we, the American people, are not each other’s enemies. The real enemies are those people who are trying to divide us into every little possible group.

Ben Carson explains Holocaust comments | CNN Politics

“Basically, what I said is that when tyranny occurs traditionally around the world, they try and disarm the people first. And that is exactly what happened in Germany,” Carson said at the National Press Club. “You know, mid- to late 30s they started a program to disarm the people and by mid- to late 40’s, look what had happened.”

Carson was referencing remarks Thursday on CNN that the Holocaust would have been less deadly had more people in Europe been armed.

“I think the likelihood of Hitler being able to accomplish his goals would have been greatly diminished if the people had been armed,” he told Wolf Blitzer when asked if there were no gun-control laws in Germany would that have prevented the murder of 6 million Jews. “I’m telling you there is a reason these dictatorial people take the guns first.”

We’ve been conditioned to think that only politicians can solve our problems. But at some point, maybe we will wake up and recognize that it was the politicians who created our problems.

Who said what and what it meant: The 4th GOP debate, annotated – The Washington Post

We need to be thinking about: How do we allow people to ascend the ladder of opportunity, rather than how do we give them everything and keep them dependent.

One Nation book Introduction.

The PC police are out in force at all times. … We’ve reached the point where people are afraid to actually talk about what they want to say.

Ben Carson, America the Beautiful: Rediscovering What Made This Nation Great

“Since Americans are by nature individualistic and entrepreneurial, by definition, then, the socialist program is anti-American, to say nothing of totalitarian. Socialism is an old dream. Some dreams are nightmares when put into practice.”
―

Ben Carson, One Nation: What We Can All Do to Save America’s Future

“Many well-meaning Americans have bought into the PC speech code, thinking that by being extra careful not to offend anyone we will achieve unity. What they fail to realize is that this is a false unity that prevents us from talking about important issues and is a Far Left strategy to paralyze us while they change our nation. People have been led to become so sensitive that fault can be found in almost anything anyone says because somewhere, somehow, someone will be offended by it.”
―

Ben Carson, One Nation: What We Can All Do to Save America’s Future

“I believe the only thing that will correct our downward trajectory is the rekindling of the enthusiasm for individual freedom and the reestablishment of the U.S. Constitution as the dominant document of governance. Unless the majority of Americans awaken from their complacency and recognize the threat to their fundamental individual liberties imposed by continued expansion of the federal government, nothing will save us from the fate of all pinnacle nations that have preceded us, those that tolerated political and moral corruption while ignoring fiscal irresponsibility.”

Remember, vote for life. It may be your own.

Mother Angelica

Yesterday Donald Trump hit Ron DeSantis from the left for signing a heartbeat bill suggesting that such bills hurt the republican party and talking how he would sign a compromise national bill restricting abortion to 13 weeks.

I can’t speak for others but I’m catholic and abortion is a sine non qua for me. It’s they type of thing that you risk your soul over. I’ve got enough sins that I worry about without compromising myself over life for the sake of a primary or national election.

Mother Angelica, the founder of EWTN put it very well herself when it comes to compromising on sin in her famous story concerning Peanuts. Her nuns were selling peanuts as a fund raiser and were doing pretty well on it when suddenly a new concessions manager demanded an “advertising fee” or as mother put it a kickback. When he threatened to pull the concession from her her answer was classic:

Mother Angelica: Look, if I’m going to hell, it’s not going to be over a peanut.

Here is her telling the story

Now there is no question that Donald Trump’s record on life as president was a great one. Three Supreme Court Judges that got rid of Roe vs Wade, first president to attend the national march for life, there is no question that his record was excellent.

Furthermore I don’t have a problem with incremental change when that’s the best you can do. In a republic you can change laws without educating the public and persuading their representatives to vote with you.

  • If a state has laws allowing abortion to the date of birth then in such a state I’ll welcome a 26 week ban
  • If a state has laws allowing abortion to 26 weeks I’ll welcome & work toward a 13 week ban
  • If a state has laws allowing abortion to 13 weeks I’ll welcome & work for a six week / heartbeat ban
  • if a state has laws allowing abortion up to six weeks I’d welcome & work for an outright ban
  • and if a state has laws outlaw abortion except for rape and incest I’d welcome & work for those exceptions to be removed because a life isn’t defined by the sins of their father.

if your lifeboat isn’t big enough to fit everyone pull from the water who you can while you build a bigger one.

But to retreat and condemn the efforts to save life for the sake of a political campaign, to reject what can be done in the hopes of getting power, to make the life of the unborn child with it’s potential and God given soul and to abandon the soul of the mother and the father an all those involved who risk their souls in this action is to abrogate our duty and to abandon the spiritual work of mercy that is admonishing the sinner because it is these souls that are at risk. Or as Mother Angelica put it:

Those who tell the Truth love you. Those who tell you what you want to hear love themselves.

Mother Angelica

All for the sake of a few more votes? All in the hope that both sides will love you? I think not.

Again Trump is my 2nd choice and if he gets the nomination I’ll have no trouble voting for him vs any of the “abortion till birth” democrats from Biden on down.

But in a primary with a choice between a candidate who has advance the cause of life and one that says he will roll back that advance for the sake of compromise? Well that’s really no choice at all.

Just a reminder to the left that if they had treated Donald Trump as a normal pol right now they would be less than sixteen months away from not having to worry about him ever again.

We are just reaching the point where a lot of people, including women who grew up on porn now have families and all of the stuff I suggested to you might suddenly become normalized is out there with a lot worse to come.

People seem to be surprised that CNN & MSNBC continue to deny the Biden scandals, but I can’t see why after all when you have two stations fighting for an increasingly niche market you need to keep moving in that direction to keep it going.

In all the fuss about Drew Barrymore re-opening her talk show someone brought up an interesting point: Nobody on the left seems to object to The View continuing to pump out new episodes

Finally in my 1971 Dynasty league my team has collapse losing 14 of 15 series and the fire sale is on, Frank Howard, Phil Gagliano and Ray Lamb are already gone and Ken Sanders, Tommie Agee and even Ron Fairly may follow as I look for prospects and draft picks to rebuild, wish me luck.

There are a lot of things that might be worth reporting this week but the biggest and most significant is this:

Democrats have now decided that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are no longer useful.

In fact they have actually reached the point where they believe that even with the FBI going after conservatives and the online services censoring the right at full swing and their friends in the courts sentencing those who spoke aloud about the steal to decades in prison that the country has reached the point where more people hate Joe Biden than Donald Trump.

You see one of the reasons why I endorsed Ron DeSantis early is my conclusion that enough people hated Trump that he would not be able to overcome the unpopularity of Joe Biden, particularly in states where the fix has been in.

I have also believed (although I’ve not written it until now) that the moment the GOP nominates anyone other than Trump that the left would rush to push Biden off the ticket because while he might have a chance vs Trump, he has no chance against anyone else because the only way you can get folks to vote for people who are oppressing them is to energize the haters who hate Trump more than they love themselves and their children.

But they have apparently concluded that Joe Biden is so unpopular that it is not possible or at least very difficult to steal an election because the vote against him would be so overwhelming that the amount of votes you would have to create in key counties would be prohibitive.

So with the command in place suddenly all the MSM is suddenly discovering that Joe Biden is not healthy enough to be president and Kamala Harris is not competent enough to be VP.

The only instinct that Biden really has is political survival so I suspect he will push back but I also suspect that those in the deep state who want him out might choose a different, horrible, but completely plausible way to have the office of president pass on to another person from the hands of an elderly man.

I suspect the only thing that’s preventing that option is Harris as VP.

Does this make Trump a better choice than DeSantis? Not in the least, Trump is still a solid 2nd choice among the current GOP candidates (I’d take him over the gov of VA if he runs too) because I’m convinced that DeSantis would do a better job AND has a better chance to win.

But I will now concede that if nominated and facing Joe Biden it’s is not impossible for him to win because the fear and actions of the left have told me so.

That fear might be as irrational as the hatred of those who are nevertrump but fear is contagious and even if it’s irrational it can change the playing field.
