On twitter this week I noticed a discussion on pot and found myself retelling the story of visiting the school where my wife worked as school nurse 20 years ago and the big chart with the human body on it and pointing to all the various functions that Pot impaired or damaged. All of that science is still valid but during the discussion something hit me.

I’ve often argued that our foes decided during the Reagan Years that they couldn’t outspend us so they decided that they would instead of strictly investing in weapons they would invest in our institutions because people were cheaper to buy and lasted longer. An examination of our higher and even high school educational system suggests today suggests our foes dollars were well spent.

But I also wonder if they invested in the pushes to legalize Pot to grant us all the social and general societal problems that a culture where a good sized percentage of the population is stoned. This might sound odd but I noticed one thing in my research…

…none of our enemies have made pot legal in their countries, NONE!

Just a coincidence I’m sure.

I was going through my archives for my tribute piece for former DaTechGuyblog writer Christopher Harper who died last month and I found myself revisiting the days after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump and the media reaction to it.

They seemed completely taken aback that we had such outrage over it and were even more put out by any suggestion that their rhetoric had anything to do with it.

Six months into his term we find that the Democrats have normalized violence to such a degree that if Trump was shot tomorrow you would have members of the press saying, “He had it coming.” without any shame.

And people wonder why Trump isn’t giving these bastards a pass this term.

If you’re a conservative you might have watched one of the many videos of the left on election night going from the anticipation of victory to the agony of defeat.

There is a lot of snickering watching it but there is one part that really jumps out at me that nobody seems to talk about.

Early in the day they kept stressing the indicators that Kamala was going to win the day and that Trump was in huge trouble and that particularly Hispanics were abandoning him etc etc etc and as soon as real number came out suddenly pivoted to “we always knew it would be close”

How is it that none of the “conservatives” at the table called out the folks for literally pivoting on a dime from a desired lie to the facts on the ground within just a few hours?

I really can’t see how anyone considers anything these people say even the least bit credible.

As you might know Donald Trump will be meeting with Putin this week in Alaska to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.

There is a lot of talk, most of it just noise, concerning this meeting but there is one disadvantage that Trump has that nobody seems to be bringing up.

While both Ukraine and Russia have reason to want the war to end the reality is the one thing both Putin and Zelenskyy have in common is this: Neither of them is anxious to give Donald Trump a victory on the international stage such as achieving a peach deal would generate.

It’s really possible, I might even say probable that one or BOTH of them given the choice of peace, even with a deal to their advantage, or defeating Trump they might choose the latter.

That’s how bent things have become.

Finally you might remember the serial fan fiction story hosted here crossing over Doctor Who, The Great Escape, Superman and Hogan’s Heroes. Well on twitter this morning Grok’s image generator was being lionized so I’d thought I’d put it to the test.

I asked it to generate an image of Superman standing before the escaped allied prisoners looking completely surprised with a pile of spent machine gun slugs at his feet.

I got a four legged superman sitting down on the ground in front of a bunch of Nazi soldiers. I kept telling the AI the things it needed to fix and some things like the man of steel having the right number of legs did get fixed but in the end I gave up as it seems incapable of generating the image according to my instructions.

It’s still impressive to see how far we’ve come in a few decades but it’s not where it pretends to be, at least not the free version on X.

The day will come.

Winston Wolf: Get it straight buster – I’m not here to say please, I’m here to tell you what to do and if self-preservation is an instinct you possess you’d better fucking do it and do it quick. I’m here to help – if my help’s not appreciated then lotsa luck, gentlemen.

Pulp Fiction 1994

While I can not speak for the administration as I am not a part of it as an American who

  1. Thinks that Ukraine has a proper Casus Belli vs Russia
  2. Belives Russia should not have invaded
  3. Believes Russia’s goal was to conquer the entire state and not just protect ethnic Russians
  4. Believes it’s up to Ukraine to decide if it wants to keep fighting
  5. Believes it’s up to Ukraine to decide if it wants to make deals with the US or not

Let me say the following:

I have absolutely no problem if you wish to provide Billions of Pounds/Dollars/Euros to Ukraine to support their war to eject Russia from Ukrainian territory.

I have no problem if you wish to provide thousands or tend of thousands of troops to fight for Ukraine against Russia.

Feel free to do both or either if you wish and let me wish you and Ukraine the best of luck in this endeavor.

A lot of accounts have been restored in to twitter over the last several months under Elon Musk from Donald Trump to Project Veritas to the Gateway Pundit and I cheer the return of these accounts and for a semblance of free speech for conservatives to come back. I must say frankly that I’m getting sick of waiting for the folks at twitter to restore the account of Robert Stacy McCain.

He was one of the first conservatives to be targeted by the twitter cancel crowd because like Libs of Tictok he dared to quote feminists directly using their own words against him to make his point.

I keep seeing these other worthy folks come back but there still remains no sign of Stacy’s @rsmccain account being restored. He had over 80K followers when he was tossed and as a writer no longer connected with major media the loss of such an account had I suspect a real effect on his reach and potential income which was the entire point of kicking him off.

I understand Elon Musk is a busy man but I urge him to take a few minutes out of his schedule and end this injustice against a reporter with thirty years of print media experience behind him and #freestacy

It’s the right thing to do.

A lot of GOP voters are rightly upset about the omnibus spending bill that just passed and the number of GOP senators who voted for this goody package for the left to make it happen.

While it outrages us it should not surprise us as I’m sure this bill contained a bunch of goodie packages for these individual senators and/or their states and/or contributors.

Unfortunately this has been the norm in congress for a very long time, it was the removal of earmarks that was a change from the routine and the people who paid a lot of money to get these folks elected expect to get their dough.

And if it means funding a bunch of stuff that helps the left in their culture war against the country, what do their care as long as they get their cut?

Lauren Boebert’s statement on Ukrainian president after his speech to congress was spot on.

She correctly acknowledged that Zelenskey is doing all he can to save his country from the Russians but also noted that it is our duty to make sure the billions we are sending to him to defend his country actually go toward that goal.

I don’t blame Zelenskey one bit, Ukraine was a land of graft and grift before the Russian invasion and if I was in charge of Ukraine and the US offered me dough but the big guy & his pals wanted their 10% or more I’d not care if thousands of grifters got their share as long as I got kept getting the dough and weapons that I needed to save my country from the Russian hoards. That’s got to be his primary goal.

But it damn well should the goal of a representative of the United States to make sure that the taxpayer dollars of Americans that are being spent to save Ukraine isn’t all about making the rich and connected richer and even if my own rep doesn’t care about it it’s nice that SOMEBODY in congress does.

We got out of work a couple of hours early yesterday so I had a chance to watch the 2nd half of the Jets Jaguars game which pitted Trevor Lawrence the 1st pick overall in the 2021 NFL draft starting for Jacksonville against Zach Wilson the 2nd overall pick in the NFL draft starting for the Jets. In two Seasons Lawrence has taken a bad team and put them within a game of their division lead and a game and a half away from the final wildcard spot this season.

Meanwhile Wilson in a year marred by injury got himself pulled shortly after the start of the 2nd half after taking a Jets team that had a lot of promise nowhere. It makes the 2nd time this season that Wilson has been sat down for poor performance but subsequent injuries to his replacements pressed him back into service.

This goes to show you how thin the line is between success and failure is in the NFL. Both of these two young men excelled in college and have physical tools to make the NFL, tools that 99.99% of the population don’t come near to. Yet one of them has the stuff to make it in this league and one did not. Meanwhile in San Francisco the # 3 pick in that draft Trey Lance is recoding from injury while Brock Purdy the 262nd and final pick in this years NFL draft Mr Irrelevant is about to lead his team to a playoff bearth.

Until the iron comes out of the forge you don’t know where it’s been.

Finally as I did last year at work I came in wearing a full Santa Suit for the final work day before Christmas. Given I have both a real stomach and a real Santa beard (that I will shave shortly after Christmas to the delight of my wife) which causes little kids to gasp when I walk into restaurants this time of year it’s very effective.

I could practically not punch in as about half of the woman (and a few men) punching out for 1st shift wanted a picture and my first hour on the job while I was in theory trying to pick orders was in fact spent taking pictures with groups of very attractive women, many dressed for the season, who all wanted a picture with Santa Claus.

It’s slightly ironic, As I’m one of only 4 white English speaking white Americans on my shift and with very few exceptions old enough to be the father or grandfather of just about everyone in the place it often makes for a lonely & silent work day (the “silent” bit will shock folks who know me) since I have few conversations during the day and can’t understand the conversations around me in Spanish, Portuguese (Cape Verde) , Creole or French (Haitians you know) everyone knows who I am and says hello but I’m generally left alone

But one day a year, for just a few hours when I come in and during the Christmas party I become the most popular person in the place.

Voice Dropping Knowledge in the Wilderness

As we know, when a so-called whistle-blower initiated the uproar about President Trump’s telephone conversation with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky it seemed to be a signal to Democrats that it was time to begin the impeachment process that most of them have longed for since Election Day in 2016.

President Trump declassified and released the transcript of the conversation, which refuted characterizations or “parodies” of it from major Democratic Party players like Rep. Adam Schiff. Nonetheless, the hue and cry of “Impeach the MotherFather” – to paraphrase Rep. Rashida Tlaib – was heard throughout the land. Why? Because surely it is illegal for a sitting POTUS to ask a foreign head of state to investigate to see if a crime has been committed in the latter’s country. Right?

The outrage got even more shrill when it was presumed that president Trump asked the same thing of Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison to help investigate the origins of the Russia hoax. (The presumption was in error. It turns out that the Australians reached out to us first on the matter.)

A day or so after this whirlwind started, one of my friends shared a link which pointed to the fact that the United States has a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) with Ukraine and, a few seconds later, I discovered that we also have one with Australia – naturally, since Australia is part of the Five Eyes Intelligence Alliance — and with many other countries.

Of course, I shared this information with my 6000+ followers on Twitter and my 3000+ followers on Facebook. It took a while for other Trump supporters with larger followings to pick up on it, but some did.

I even shared the information with Hillary Clinton, for what it’s worth.

It’s fun to troll and to be telling truth at the same time.

The fact that it was her husband who signed the Ukraine MLAT into law back in 1998 was a bonus that I didn’t hesitate to point out to her.

By the way, other than my friend, I saw no other commentator point out the existence of these treaties before I did.

Just wanted to point that out.

Here’s what I’m doing now: reading John Solomon’s Ukraine papers on Scribd. I think it’s very important for each of us – every interested voter – to see what type of beast we are dealing with. And it’s a rough beast. I’ve been saying some variation of the following of late.

To me, this was instinctive, but, as it turns out, one Glenn Beck seems to have connected all the players in the Ukraine game using his signature blackboard. Well worth your time.

President Trump is poised to spill the gravy.

HECK I FORGOT: Like Hunter Biden, Paul Pelosi, Jr., the son of Speaker Pelosi sits/sat on the board of a Ukrainian energy company. The video is a promo featuring the Speaker herself.

I’m sure that’s just a coincidence.
