I Have No Idea What Musk is Doing…

…but his latest polls is an excellent reminder that it’s a bad idea to have to rely on a rich man to protect the right to open speech.

I suspect that the left had no problem propping up a bloated twitter indefinitely when it’s purpose was to keep conservatives censored, but now that this is no longer the case regular economics are going to take over.

Of course it’s also possible that this is a toy that his done playing with or he doesn’t want to deal with the grief that is coming his way from daring to allow speech to be free again (quick fyi Elon, doesn’t matter what you do now they’ll never forgive you for it).

Personally If he’s not going to fix Twitter it would be rather funny to sell it to the truth platform of Trump for $1. The left’s imploding over it would be a lot of fun

…but I’m going to note that for quite a while St. Faustina’s diary and devotions she advanced were actively suppressed by the Vatican. It was not till decades later than these restrictions were removed and Faustina was eventually canonized.

I find myself suddenly reminded of this passage from the Acts of the Apostles:

We gave you strict orders (did we not?) to stop teaching in that name. Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and want to bring this man’s blood upon us.” But Peter and the apostles said in reply, “We must obey God rather than men. The God of our ancestors raised Jesus, though you had him killed by hanging him on a tree. God exalted him at his right hand 5 as leader and savior to grant Israel repentance and forgiveness of sins. We are witnesses of these things, as is the holy Spirit that God has given to those who obey him.”

When they heard this, they became infuriated and wanted to put them to death. But a Pharisee in the Sanhedrin named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, respected by all the people, stood up, ordered the men to be put outside for a short time, and said to them,

“Fellow Israelites, be careful what you are about to do to these men. Some time ago, Theudas appeared, claiming to be someone important, and about four hundred men joined him, but he was killed, and all those who were loyal to him were disbanded and came to nothing. After him came Judas the Galilean at the time of the census. He also drew people after him, but he too perished and all who were loyal to him were scattered. So now I tell you, have nothing to do with these men, and let them go. For if this endeavor or this activity is of human origin, it will destroy itself. But if it comes from God, you will not be able to destroy them; you may even find yourselves fighting against God.”

They were persuaded by him. After recalling the apostles, they had them flogged, ordered them to stop speaking in the name of Jesus, and dismissed them. So they left the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they had been found worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name.

Acts 5:28-43

I don’t pretend to know the details or the justifications behind this decision, but I do know that under the rules of Holy Obedience Fr. Pavone would be subject to his local bishop and the Vatican and be obliged to obey any such directive even this one. If this is the work of God then there is no point in opposing or resisting it, it must be accepted with humility, and if it turns out it’s the work of man it will fall apart just as the sanctions against St. Faustina did.

I’m sure this is a tremendous blow to him but the best advice I can give is for him to trust in God. He’s knows what he’s doing even if he hasn’t let us in on that knowledge.

Well the 161 of the 162 games of my 1970 league turned out to be fatal to my playoff hopes as Bob Miller gave up 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th in relief and while I managed to score a pair and load the bases with the tying run on 3rd and the go ahead run on 2nd Tommy Harper who had driven in over 100 runs for me that season couldn’t manage a hit or walk against rookie pitcher Bert Blyleven and thus the Twins go on to the wild card game and I ended my season one win away from a playoff berth.

It’s the 2nd year in a row were I ended up just short of a goal with the tying and go ahead runs on base and a big hitter of mine up. I had two men on with no men out in the last of the 9th of game seven of the world series when Bobby Tolan outran a Pete Rose’s drive over his head for the 1st out and Steve Carlton coaxed a double play from Tommie Agee to end the series.

Rest assured no parts of my neighborhood ended up burning over this defeat. After all there is always the 1971 season.

Apparently Bill Gates is once again talking about how much better things would be if there were less people.

Have you ever notice that the people who keep saying this always think it would be better if other people weren’t alive instead of them?

As a Catholic I can’t and won’t advise this but I’m sure there are plenty of people looking at Gates and company and saying: “You first”

Am I the only person who finds it Ironic that while the nation’s most famous socialist owns 3 homes the nation’s most famous capitalist owns none

Early this year, Musk said in an interview with the non-profit organization TED  that he no longer owns a home and instead stays at friends’ houses.

My first thought was “where do you keep your stuff?” but if you’re one of the top 5 richest people in the world you don’t need stuff since anything you want is pretty much a phone call away.

Still very ironic.

Croatia apparently edged Morocco in the 3rd place game at the world cup.

Both teams have been bun to watch and would have been worthy teams for the final but was not to be.

Morocco advanced farther than any other Arab or African team in history I suspect non of those players will ever be able to buy a drink in an Arab country again.

But given that booze is illegal in many Muslim states that might have been the case anyways.

It’s now Saturday the 17th 8 days before Christmas and Amazon tells me that even with free prime delivery the items I wanted would not make it here by Christmas.

This is the week when retailers have the chance to take advantage of the fact that people buying items in the store can take them home with them and perhaps salvage a bit of business from this explosive Biden economy, at least explosive in the sense that the ability of Americans to afford to spend has been taken out as it hit by saturation bombing.

Well I guess we have the economy we deserve.

Captain Darling: So you see, Blackadder, Field Marshal Haig is most anxious to eliminate all these German spies.

General Melchett: Filthy Hun weasels fighting their dirty underhand war!

Darling: And, fortunately, one of *our* spies–

General Melchett: Splendid fellows, brave heroes, risking life and limb for Blighty!

Blackadder goes forth General Hospital 1989

You might have noticed that despite my best efforts to remind him

Elon Musk’s team has yet to restore the @RSMCCAIN twitter account as one of those conservatives set free from Twitter prison.

On the plus side for Stacy he now has quite a bit of company from Insty:

● Cue lefty meltdown while people guess why Twitter suspended Aaron Rupar. (Permanently?)

● Well DAMN! Many OTHER lefty accounts (including Keith Olbermann) have been suspended.

● Huge Suspension Drops on Twitter, Liberal Meltdown in Progress.

It appears these journalists decided to dox Musk’s location and that someone attempted to harm his son and Suddenly the left has decided that free speech is paramount.

My reaction to the sudden outrage on violation of speech by companies like CNN is pretty much the same as Ellen Carmichael’s

But I think the real source of their outrage is this response by Musk:

Oh the horror!

So for now Stacy has plenty of company from the professional left, my only objection will be if these accounts are restored before his is.
