There is a very great danger to letting Democrats in charge of your state because they do things like this:
In March 2021, former Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam signed the legislation — the so-called Clean Cars bill — in an effort to bolster Virginia’s clean energy transition and boost the number of electric vehicles sold throughout the state. The bill, which was praised by environmental groups, also mandates that Virginia automatically adopts tailpipe emissions standards implemented in California.
Youngman has tried to get this repealed so that the standards of Virginia can be decided by Virginians but Democrats have managed to block these attempts.
There is another election in two years so Virginians will have a chance to put a new State Senate majority in place but there is an easier solution that Governor Youngman can implement:

Our liberal friends have redefined “Marriage” they’ve redefined “Man”, they’ve redefined “woman” they’ve redefined “free speech” so why not take a page from their book and issue an executive order consisting of the following text:
“For the purposes of the 2021 ‘Clean Cars Bill’ the word ‘California’ shall be defined as ‘The commonwealth of Virginia’.
In one fell swoop suddenly Virginia gets it’s sovereignty over it’s own standards back.
The left will howl but frankly the only way we’re going to stop the left redefining words to advance their agendas is to use the same tactic against them.

For many their first thought would be California’s new rules mandating electric cars by 2035 and how all said car owners are not able to charge under these rules.
My thought was this picture of North Korea:
And it struck me that the people of North Korea have no choice on who leads them and that to change the situation they are in, they have to risk their lives.
People in California don’t have that out. They have repeatedly voted for and allowed their state to become more and more a third world country. Moreover for decades people have warned them over and over that their policies would have this effect.
They ignored them.
What has happened in North Korea is a tragedy because it was done to the people there. What is happening in California is comedy because they have done it to themselves.

In the end California will ask the federal government to bail them out. It won’t be this year, it won’t be next year but within the next decade the state will be begging for a federal bailout to save them from the hole they dug for themselves.
Closing thought to all those who have fled California over the last decade: If you continue to vote for the left in the state where you fled to, all of these problems will follow you to where you are now.
One of the side effects of California’s insane move to ban the sale of gas powered cars in 13 years is coming into play in Massachusetts.
It seems that lawmakers in several states including mine which are controlled by the left that want to be as insane as California but still believe that to do so openly might lead to defeat passed laws that tie the decisions in their states to those of California.
So because of this Massachusetts now has a bad on the sale of gas powered cars ready to go into effect in 2035 without anyone in the state actually making such a decision.
This means two things.
First if you are the Mass GOP this is a golden opportunity. The state party should be recruiting in every city and town, they should be visiting every car dealership, every repair shop, every parts dealer and every gas station to mobilize and energize voters. They should be recruiting candidate in every district with the promise to repeal any such laws that ties decision about how people in the bay state live to the whims of officials 3000 miles away that they have never voted for.
The fact that I am suggesting this instead of hearing that the GOP is already doing this however suggests that the Massachusetts GOP is going to do its best to earn the old GOP nickname of “the stupid party”, but you never know.
There is however one other point to make about this situation.
California is a very big state 163,696 square miles and while it borders three states (Oregon to the north, Nevada to the west and Arizona to the southwest its a bit of a haul to get there unless you live right on the northern, western and southern border. So when these rule kicks in you’re going to have to grin and bear it (until things collapse that is but I digress).
However not only is Massachusetts less than 1/10 of the size of California 10,565 but it borders five states (New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont and New Hampshire) and while some spots in the state are less than a half hour drive from mains every resident in Massachusetts has a shorter drive to Maine than most people California have to any other state.
This means that if our state is stupid enough to allow this idiocy to continue then car dealers in every New England State plus NY have a windfall coming.
I bought my 1999 Buick LeSabre in Londonderry NH, it was less than an hour’s drive from my house to get it. What do you think will happen when people have the choice of paying 40-50K for a car in their own city or driving two hours or less away to get a car for not only half that price but without the prospect of some day having to pay for a battery repair that costs more than a new car?
If I’m a car dealer in any of those border states I’m salivating at this idea, and if I’m a current dealer in MA I’m looking at buying land in Hollis, or Nashua or Salem or Ringe NH or Halifax or Sanford VT or Woonsocket RI or Stafford or Thompson Ct or maybe even Boston Corner, Stephentown or Austerlitz NY.
Because barring an outbreak of sanity in Massachusetts or an even more unlikely outbreak of sanity in California you’ve going to have a steady stream of business heading your way, so you might as well get ready now.
The big political news from last week, unless that is, your only news sources are MSNBC and CNN, was not the prime-time January 6 show trial masquerading as a hearing, but the resounding vote by San Francisco voters to recall radical leftist so-called prosecutor Chesa Boudin.
Oh, he is a piece of work, this one. Boudin’s parents were Weather Underground terrorists, both of whom served long prison terms for their crimes, including murder. Boudin’s guardians were two other ex-Weather Underground terrorists, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, he attended an elite private high school, and he is a Yale law school graduate. Boudin was served a translator for Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez. In 2019, campaigning as if he was a woke social worker, Boudin was elected district attorney for San Francisco. “We will not prosecute cases involving quality-of-life crimes,” Boudin the candidate said. “Crimes such as public camping, offering or soliciting sex, public urination, blocking a sidewalk, etc., should not and will not be prosecuted.” Well, I’ll concede this fact to him. Boudin honored his campaign promises.
And criminals received the message. Shoplifting soared under Boudin, as well as what one Nation writer, Sasha Abramsky, called other “low-end crimes,” including burglary and car break-ins. To me, a low-end crime is littering or jaywalking, but I am not a leftist. For many people, particularly renters and the poor, an automobile is their most valuable asset. Low-end? Really? Abramsky, you are quite out of touch, but of course you are, you write for the Nation.
The murder rate went up under Boudin. His misrule was a validation of the Rudy Giuliani’s “broken windows” policy of policing. Notice that I didn’t call it the “broken windows” theory of law enforcement.
I’ve only visited San Francisco once, in 2010, which residents of the City on the Bay probably look back on as “the good old days.” I was appalled by the level of homelessness there, and by all accounts, there are now many more indigents sprawled out on San Franciso sidewalks. Tellingly, during my time there I noticed the strong smell of urine even in the best neighborhoods. Boudin couldn’t smell the pee?
I’ve heard there are Republicans in San Francisco, albeit very few. The two Republican opponents of Nancy Pelosi–her entire district is within the city–collected 11-percent of the vote in 2020. But 60 percent of voters in San Francisco voted to purge Boudin last week. Earlier this month, another Nation writer, Christopher D. Cook, warned of a “centrist uprising” against progressivism in San Francisco. And all of this time, particularly from the left, I’ve been told we need more moderation in our politics, which of course to them means conservatives veering over to their side. In fact, as Democrat policies, from Biden down to Boudin, prove toxic, it’s liberals who are heading to the center, which is best exemplified by Bill Maher’s regular attacks on the far-left.
Over at the Washington Post, Perry Bacon Jr. warns of centrist Democrats attacking far-left policies on crime. Writing for the New York Times, Shane Goldmacher commented, “Centrists and former law enforcement leaders hailed the successful San Francisco recall as a crushing blow to progressives.”
Oh, those evil centrists, they are taking America down a treacherous moderate path.
The Democrats of course don’t possess the right side of the political spectrum. And they are losing the center. Or perhaps it’s already lost to them. Which leaves the Democratic Party with the extreme left, or to channel Biden’s insult on conservatives which ricocheted against him, the Ultra Left.
