Like most of us who aren’t radical leftists, I am outraged by the shameful and outrageous raid by the FBI under the Biden regime on President Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago.  Like the vast majority of my Conservative and Libertarian friends, I immediately took to social media to vent my extreme displeasure at that contemptible display of government corruption and overreach.

I have never seen such an instantaneous outpouring of rage.  Most of what I saw was extremely helpful when viewed through the perspective of trying to win converts among the great many moderates and fence sitters. Too much of what I saw, however, was not helpful at all.  No matter how despicable the actions of the Biden regime are, calls for revolution and violence are counterproductive in the extreme.

This eloquent and powerful Tweet by Ben Carson is a perfect example ot a social media post the will win the battle of ideas.

This Tweet by Rand Paul works because it effectively illustrates the corruption and double standards of the Biden regime.

A measured amount of emotion and mockery can also create an effective political weapon.

I found this article from The Federalist to be extremely thought provoking and informative.

In 2016, Donald Trump’s election doomed Merrick Garland’s shot at a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land. Four years later, Garland oversaw a raid on the former president’s personal home.

The Department of Justice refused to confirm that Attorney General Garland had personally signed off on Monday’s raid on Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s Palm Beach home, but it seems impossible that such an outrageous move could be made without approval from the top. Since Garland hasn’t fired every agent involved and proclaimed their disgrace from the rooftops, it’s safe to assume the raid had Garland’s blessing — in which case, it was one of the most glaring acts of political revenge in recent memory. How can anyone be expected to believe Garland is acting as a neutral arbiter of justice here?

So many on social media are trying to puzzle out the real motives behind this unsettling raid.  I was until I came across this article, Russia Hoaxer Spills the Beans, Reveals What the FBI Raid Is Really All About (townhall.com)

Marc Elias, architect of the Russia collusion hoax — who hired Fusion GPS to produce the fake dossier about President Trump, which led to illegal FISA warrants against Trump campaign officials and a lengthy Special Counsel investigation — and noted attempter of election rigging, claimed that the “media is missing the really, really big reason why the raid today is a potential blockbuster in American politics.” And then he spilled the beans on what was really the motivation behind the raid:

Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States. As used in this subsection, the term “office” does not include the office held by any person as a retired officer of the Armed Forces of the United States.

The constitutionally challenged Biden regime does not grasp the fact that a law cannot override Article II of the Constitution, which alone sets the requirements for president.

A very high percentage of the moderates and fence sitters have become uneasy about the corruption and overreach they have witnessed ever since Joe Biden was installed in the White House.  Sharing articles such as this will win converts, Criminalizing Opposition To The Regime Is How The Republic Ends (thefederalist.com)

An indictment of former President Donald Trump would be a breathtakingly authoritarian turn. It would amount to the U.S. security state refusing to accept “no” from America’s voters yet again. An indictment would be an unelected and unaccountable federal agency overruling voters’ two-time rejection of impeachment through their elected representatives.

This is the core danger of the administrative state: Its now open propensity to go rogue. It is apparently hellbent now on turning the United States into a banana republic.

The degree of shock at the Raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago confuses me. Once you have people willing to destroy the norms on stealing an election what makes you think they’re going to respect any other norms?

You know I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again, Donald Trump must be one of the cleanest businessmen who ever ran a business and one of the most honest pols who ever held office.

With the degree of scrutiny given to him and the enthusiastic desire to find something ANYTHING criminal about him from both the government and the press the fact that over six years they have come up with nothing solidifies this opinion.

The funny thing of course is that people likely would not have had that opinion before he ran.

There is one other aspect of what was done that should be addressed. One of the reasons people were shocked is how “in your face” this actually is.

That’s deliberate, they WANT people to understand that they will come after you and you can’t do anything about it, they want you to know who is in charge, who is the master and who is the slave.

It’s meant to be psychological terrorism.

There are a few people who are shocked at how few leftists are speaking out against this. I’m not shocked for three reasons:

  1. The violent wing of the left is still ready to go after anyone who speaks out of turn and particularly anyone they consider “traitors”
  2. The left didn’t see the possibility of Harry Reid’s filibuster reform being used against them, why would they see the consequences for them here?
  3. In a party that is post Christian, ends and means are what matters , why would you expect a moral stand?

Finally we talked about how clean Trump must be now let’s look at the other side of the coin.

For decades Republicans and Democrats have traded power, each side has been in charge for a while then the other. Other than that long run from the 50’s to the 80’s when the dems owned the house the back and forth was normal and both sides understood that sooner or later the pendulum swings back.

The sheer panic on the left concerning a 2nd Trump term suggest to me something different.

Could it be that the left is even more corrupt than we think? Could it be that the stuff that they’ve been doing, enabling and coordinating is even more horrific than that worst conspiracy theorists have imagined? Could it be that the Epstein’s of the world are the norm for the left and not the exception and that they’ve only caught the one?

That would explain the left’s Trump panic. Not being part of the normal system won’t turn a blind eye to things that have been done in the past and continue to be done, more than that he would be motivated to expose what the left has done for decades simply out of revenge over what’s been done to him without cause.

This is simply a theory, I don’t know if that’s true, but it certainly fits the current facts on the ground.

Between the last day of Pintastic NE 2022, interviews, as much pinball as I could squeeze in before the machines were taken away, the drive home, and Mass last evening and uploading the final videos I didn’t get a post up yesterday nor did I comment on the Dobbs decision.

Now that I’m home with a night’s sleep let’s do a quick five thoughts about the Dobbs Decision.

  1. If there was ever a time to say: “Thank you Mitch we owe you one” it’s now. No Matter How much the GOP base might be angry with Mitch McConnell on other things no GOP legislator is more responsible for this result. None of this is possible without his willingness to:
    • Stop the Garland nomination in its tracks
    • Retaliate against Harry Reid for ending judicial filibusters
    • Push Judges including Trump SCOTUS picks
  2. Of course if we’re going to thank legislators we also have to thank Harry Reid who often claimed to be pro life and ironically turned out to be the single most important man in the Senate to get this going. Without out him nuking the filibuster for judicial appointment at the urging of Obama Mitch McConnell does not nuke it for SCOTUS allowing Trump to get through three justices that the left would have filibustered till the cows come home. Yes it meant that the left was able to seat Ketanji Brown “What’s a woman I’m no biologist” Jackson and perhaps other radicals like her but if that’s the price of killing Roe we’ll take it. Without his action Mitch’s prophecy never comes through, cue the video:
  1. Of course the primary person we have to thank is Donald Trump Not only did he push forward conservative Judges but when Ruth Bader Ginsberg died less that 50 days before the election he was ready to roll with Amy Comey Barrett getting her approved with only a week to spare. Can anyone think of any other GOP president who would have been willing to do so? If you had told me in 2000 that Donald Trump would do this, I would not have believed you, but the Hermit of Loreto would have. I guess Mitch’s Prophecy was not the only one that was fulfilled last Friday:

Capoverdi asked him in English if he was Thomas [Zimmer], and the two had a delightful conversation. When Trump was elected, Dr. Curran called and told him that, back in the 1980s, Tom Zimmer said he had received a “premonition” and that “a certain man would lead America back to God”—and that man would be none other than Donald J. Trump.

“The millionaire playboy from New York?” the incredulous doctor is said to have asked Zimmer.

“Yes,” the Hermit of Loreto responded, adding he was so sure Donald Trump would become a great spiritual leader of America that he wrote his name on a brick and had it placed in the reconstruction of St. Peter’s Holy Door after the Jubilee so Trump would receive blessings from the many Masses that would be said in the Vatican.

Ever wonder why the left’s hatred of Trump boarders on the demonically insane? This is why
  1. One can not stress enough how critical to this day the courage of Justices Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch Barret and Kavanaugh in this ruling. The leak of Alito’s draft opinion was specifically used to try to intimidate them. The left openly threatened their lives (and are still doing so) with one person already facing attempted murder charges while protestors continue to harass them at home in violation of federal law. All the while Democrat leaders were either silent or encouraged such action and the Democrat AG who once was nominated to sit on the court did nothing to enforce the law. If they had caved not only would the rule of law be threatened in this country forever but it had the real possibility of turning our cold civil war into a warm one and generating an actual insurrection rather than the fantasy being advanced by the left in the house.
  2. Finally an odd thing that my family members have seen on facebook as been the incredible rage of people who loudly proclaim that they don’t want to associate themselves with anyone who is happy about this decision or posted anything to celebrate it. I actually find this amusing in the sense that my family members are all Catholics who regularly go to church and regularly receive the sacraments including confession. That there are people who are friends and associates of them who are shocked that such people who openly practice their religion actually believe what the the faith teaches seems a tad odd. In fairness if they only get their news from CNN & the MSM perhaps they figure that Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and all the other public Catholics who consider faith a coat to remove if it becomes uncomfortable or inconvenient to their power the norm.

On occasion I get accused of living in a right-wing silo, or if you prefer, bubble.

But it’s left-wingers who are more likely to dwell in their own political silo. And it’s hurting their side.

Good.

And because many people, particularly leftists, are terrible listeners, I have to repeat myself yet again.

Here we go.

Even if I wanted to, I can’t remain in a right-wing silo. Besides–broadcast and cable media, as well as streaming services, are dripping wet with liberal and woke bias. And I can’t always avoid them. Last year, Mrs. Marathon Pundit underwent a minor medical procedure. In the waiting room I had to sit through ABC’s Good Morning America, hosted by Clintonista George Stephanopoulos, and then, on the same network, The View.

Earlier this year I had some complicated dental work done. My dentist has TVs in front of each chair. What was on? The View. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was one of the show’s guests.

“John,” my dentist calmly said to me as she drilled, “tell me if you experience pain.”

Conservatives–and if you are a regular viewer of MSNBC or CNN this will shock you–are more tolerant of people who hold opposing views.

It’s an old study, but Pew Research found that liberals were more likely to block or unfriend a conservative than the other way around.

The mainstream media, the Biden White House, and big-city governments are leftist monocultures. Big tech too, but I’ll attack them again, I am sure, in a future blog post.

When you live in an echo chamber, you are bound to inadvertently come up with ideas that outsiders will mock. Or even, like a lit stick of dynamite with a long fuse, have them thrown back at you.

Last month, a contender–and oh my, is the competition steep–for worst Biden cabinet member, Homeland Security secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, revealed the formation of the Disinformation Governance Board. Conservatives immediately pounced, and almost in unison, called the group “Orwellian” and labeled it “the Ministry of Truth,” which is where reluctant liar Winston Smith toiled in George Orwell’s novel, 1984. When it was revealed that a disinformationist, who had cast doubts on the authenticity of Hunter Biden’s laptop, Nina Jankowicz, was the head of that panel, the Orwell analogy was complete.

One rule of politics, one that the woke ignores because of what Ben Shapiro calls the left’s “unearned sense of moral superiority,” is that when (not if, because the right errs too) you make a whopper of a mistake, you must immediately correct it. So rather than eliminating the Disinformation Governance Board as soon as Mayorkas acknowledged its existence, “the Ministry of Truth” and Jankowicz dangled for three weeks. During that time the Orwellian memes of Jankowicz flooded social media, and an embarrassing TikTok video of Jankowicz, singing to the tune of “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” emerged, which gained her the nickname Scary Poppins.

Anita Dunn, who in 2009 cited the genocidal Mao Tse-Tung as one of her favorite philosophers, which led to her departure from the Obama White House, worked on the 2020 Biden campaign. She was briefly a senior White House advisor to Biden. Dunn is said to have been behind the president’s recent use of not only MAGA as a pejorative, but the heretofore unheard moniker “Ultra MAGA.” Conservatives on social media immediately and proudly declared themselves as “Ultra MAGA,” mirroring the response in 2016 when Hillary Clinton called Donald Trump supporters “deplorables.” During a speech earlier this month, Biden referred to his predecessor as “the great MAGA king.” On Truth Social, Trump struck back with a Lord of the Rings-themed meme as he gleefully adopted the nickname.

If Dunn didn’t live in a left-wing bubble, she would have seen all of those snarky responses coming.

On the local level, last month Chicago’s inept leftist mayor, Lori Lightfoot, declared that the summer of 2022 will be “the Summer of Joy.” John Kass has derisively referred to the Summer of Joy in several of his columns and he poked fun at it in his most recent podcast. Hey Jackass, the sarcastic yet accurate tabulator of Chicago murders and shootings, is selling Summer of Joy T-shirts and coffee cups. Now that Memorial Day weekend has arrived, every time there is a mass shooting in Chicago–and we only have to look back a few hours to find the most recent one–bloggers and right-leaning social media users will quip something along the lines of “Wow, here is more ‘Summer of Love’ Chicago carnage for you.”

All Lightfoot would have needed to prevent this mockery is to have a politically moderate advisor–she would never hire a conservative–who would be bold enough to say, “I don’t think ‘Summer of Love’ is a wise idea, and here’s why.”

As Mary Poppins, not Biden’s Scary Poppins, said in that classic movie, “Sometimes a person we love, through no fault of their own, can’t see past the end of his nose.”

Such is the status of liberalism in 2022.

Which is why it will be a glorious election season for the right this year.
