Massachusetts Democrats still haven’t gotten the memo on tea parties…

..as they keep showing up at local Tea Party Candidate forums. Here are some photos from the event:

Keith Nicholas (I) for Worcester County Sheriff

One Independent

Scott Bove (D) for Sheriff

Bove made his second appearance at twin city

Tom Foley (D) for Worcester County Sheriff

For Foley it was his first visit, those D’s are not an illusion I guess they didn’t get the NAACP memo that we were a bunch of evil loons. The Republican candidate was also there but he was in and out and I didn’t get a chance to get a posed solo shot of him.

Now thats a gavel for a tea party meeting

Gotta love the cool Tea Party Gavel. Talked to several people in attendance before the candidates went on:

And then there was Joanne:

Unfortunately Joanne left right after the forum so not only did she miss getting interviewed a 2nd time but she missed the Monday 25 cent wings and half price appetizers at the Border Grille & Bar after 8 p.m. That’s tragic. However I did catch Bob again:

This post is already the size of Cuba so I’ll put the actual candidate speeches in a later post. I still have to tweak the Youtube descriptions and one video upload failed overnight. I’ll have news from the forum all through the day.

…at the Tea Party Forum, now what did the people who attended have to say?

We started with Charlie:

I’ve actually talked to Charlie before at the conservative forum of the commonwealth.

I then talked to Elaine and Ann but we were interrupted by the start of the forum.

When the candidates were done we went back to see what they had to say.

Elaine’s thought that both parties are the same might be echoed by Eric Erickson these days.

And a quick round up from me:

Bottom line is was a good event, the Twin City Tea Party it forces local media to at least notice Tea Party events without putting a set of horns on us, local reps were put in the position to answer voters directly and we got to see their prospective replacements function when challenged. Kudos for the Border Grille & Bar for hosting.

GA-4 Forum: Cory Ruth Statement

I just received the following statement from the Cory Ruth campaign I reprint it in full:

ATLANTA, GA—Republican Cory Ruth issued the following statement related to the NewsMakers Live candidate forum.
“I was asked to participate in this important forum months ago, and said at the time I would be honored to do so. I am still looking forward to sharing my message of independence and fiscal conservatism to all voters of every race in Georgia’s 4th District.”

“One of my fellow Republicans has accused the event coordinator of excluding her because of her race. That ugly charge has been vehemently and adamantly denied by the producer and moderator for tonight’s event.”

“While I do not know the source of this misunderstanding, I would never attend an event that excluded candidates based on race. This is 21st century America, and we’re better than that.”

“I respect all my fellow Republicans in this race,” Ruth said. “That includes Liz Carter, Victor Armendariz and Larry Gause. We are not opponents, we are competitors on the same team. I am privileged to take our conservative message to a large segment of the black community this evening.”

Ruth added: “I regret that old-fashioned racial division threatens the civil tone of this campaign. The 4th District is made up of people of all ethnic backgrounds who celebrate their diversity. I am who I am, and I’m running for office as a conservative Republican.”
