4th Doctor: I was thinking in terms of a psychological barrier. It’s cheap, efficient and energy saving,

One of the great advantages of being Sicilian ,other than the excellent genes that you get when your ancestors come from an area that just about everybody in the world conquered at one time or another, is the fear factor.

There are still a few Italians in general and Sicilians in particular who get angry that when people hear “Italian” or “Sicilian” they think “Mafia” because they don’t like the stereotype of being considered gangsters applied to them.

Most of the Sicilians I know not only don’t care but actually like it for two reasons.

  1. They don’t give a damn what other people think
  2. There is a large advantage in life if nobody wants to mess with you

If any person who might cheat or harm you is afraid that there is a large organization that might choose to take revenge on them for doing so and that said organization may take said revenge even years after the fact in a most unpleasant way said people tend to decide it’s a much better idea to look for easier marks.

It takes away the tension every time you have to start your car.

Now consider for a moment Jews in General and the State of Israel in particular.

From 70AD till 1947 a period of 1877 years there was no state of Israel or Jewish state. Even when Israel had kings and rulers it’s status as an international power pretty much ended with the death of Solomon centuries before the Romans or the Greeks or even the Persians extended their empires to include the Holy Land.

As for the Jewish people while you might have some Jewish quarters in cities in various countries Jews as a total population of most areas were in fact nominal. The only reason why you tended to notice Jews in quantity in an area is the same reason why most Americans notice Rhode Island license plates on cars. While they might be common in Massachusetts & Connecticut in the rest of the country they’re a rare sight.

Even today the total number of Jews in the world based on 2023 figures is only 17 million. That’s barely over 3/10’s of 1% of the worlds population. Even in the US which has the highest number of Jews in the world (barely edging out Israel) has only 7.4 million Jews out of a population of over 330 million people, under 3% of the population. Even in Israel Jews make up only 80% of the population of the Jewish state.

Meanwhile as a population that was hated by many and collectively blamed for the crucifixion of Christ based on a bad interpretation of a gospel verse (Matt 27:25) that went beyond Christ’s prophecy (Luke 18:41-44) on it’s effect, Jews who excelled tended to stand out in a population again because there were so few relatively speaking.

And none of those points even touch on the holocaust.

So consider. You are the Jews, you’ve somehow become the only ancient nation to survive to the 20th century. Your capital falls during the days of the Roman empire but you stay united as a people. You finally get your nation back seventeen centuries later in 1948 after a bloody war and you finally regain your historical capital Jerusalem in 1967 after beating three enemy armies in six days but you remain a nation and people who are:

  1. Historically hated
  2. Incredibly tiny both in population & size
  3. Surrounded by nations whose populations want you dead
  4. Marked for death by one of the worlds largest religions
  5. BUT considered sly

How do you keep from being destroyed?

Well having a strong sponsor with the largest population of Jews in the world (the US) helps but they are thousands of miles away. You can develop an excellent war industry and tech industry and various innovations to make your country wealthy but even that is not enough. You need to convince people that you have an almost superhuman reach to get to your enemies.

That’s where a Tucker Carlson et/al come in.

If you want to convince the world that your tiny nation is a nation of bad asses who you don’t want to mess with it really helps a lot if you have a member of the media widely known with a huge following telling anyone who will listen that you are this insidious power who manages to manipulate all kinds of things in the world and responsible for all sorts of things.

While Carlson’s rants might increase hatred among a population that already doesn’t care much for you what it also does is reinforce the idea that messing with you might not be the wisest move in the world.

Now ops like the pager attack on Hezbollah and infiltrating Iran anti-Mossad agency (the head of it was a Mossad agent) and the hacking of Iranian traffic cameras helps sell this even more and it all brings the desired effect that of making people think that messing with you might not be the best idea.

It’s true that if your enemies are part of a giant suicide cult which is a fair description of radical Islam it might not completely stop the odd bomber or assassin but there is a reason why millions of Muslims men of military age who hate Israel and Jews are in England and Europe rather than in the middle east carrying weapons.

It’s because thanks to those ops and the loud “Israel controls the world” crowd like Tucker they would rather scream “Death to the Jews” far far away from a safe distance. It’s a psychological barrier that only a few dare to cross.

Frankly if folks like Tucker didn’t exist I’d expect the Mossad to create them.

Yesterday I watched the GOP debate till 3 am (my rundown here) and after getting my 1999 LeSabre inspected by a kid younger than the car and having lunch with DaWife got home with just enough time to watch the Tucker Carlson interview with Trump. Here are my thoughts:

The opening question concerning skipping the debate was a tad obvious but what was less obvious and less expected was his question about the decline of TV in general. This is a subject that has large cultural significance and it reminds one that Trump was very popular on TV for many years and is a expert on the subject. His commentary there had little to do with the election 2024 but was very fascinating concerning how the medium works.

It didn’t take long for me to conclude that Trump was exactly right strategically in skipping the debate and doing this interview instead. Not only for the sake of avoiding questions and attacks that he might not want to deal with but because of how comfortable he was in the format. I thought it was much better than a rally speech in the sense that he was in the position to expand on some subject and give some excellent insights on several subjects. It’s an appealing side of Trump that he would be wise to use more often.

I think the single biggest moment from the interview was Trump explaining to Tucker why the the indictments have not hurt and in fact have helped his poll ratings, noting that “The American people get it”. One does not have to have Trump as their first choice for the nomination to notice that the prosecutions of him are prosecution, particularly compared to how the Biden’s are treated.

A close second was his line about the Biden admin going after gas stoves etc etc. The “Let people buy everything.” should be adopted by every GOP candidate running for any national office there is. It’s a landslide maker that perfectly encapsulates the frustration folks have with the appliance Nazis out there

If I had to name the single biggest contrast between this interview and the debate it’s that Tucker gave Trump had a chance to hit Biden in detail while the Fox team seemed to do their best to shield him. Trump went in heavy on the corruption of the Biden while the GOP candidates strained to get in a few words on a subject ignored by the hosts.

His case against Biden and his noting of little things that give the game away were very significant and that’s why I suspect there is no way Joe Biden will debate him or any GOP candidate in a general election race.

All in all I think it was a good exercise for Trump but about 5 minutes after it was done something hit me square in the face. Tucker Carlson gave him time to answer and the conversation was good but there were two words that I didn’t recall hearing in those 45 minutes:

“COVID” and “FAUCI”

It would seem inconceivable to me that a subject that took up a full quarter of his term as president was ignored by Tucker Carlson and didn’t rate a question. I suspect this was not an accident and might have even been a condition of the him getting the interview.

I found the omission glaring because sooner or later he’s going to have to answer questions on that subject and I also suspect it’s one of the reasons why the administration would prefer to run against Trump because neither COVID nor Fauci are subjects that the left in general and Joe Biden in particular want to talk about and as long as Trump is the guy he’s running against he won’t have to .

Update: Played the interview again for DaWife and she says she heard Trump say the word COVID in reference to Biden having an excuse to stay in the basement so I stand corrected but again there was no conversation about the COVID response of the Trump administration

All in all I’d still say it was a good job by and for Trump and a smart move, but I think in the end he ends up in a GOP debate, perhaps not the next one or the one after that but when there are only two or three opponents left I don’t think the “duck and cover” will work in the long term for him, but we will see.

Yesterday I endorsed Ron DeSantis for President of the United States, Today Don Surber endorsed him as President of Disney while asking this question

How do you not make money when you can offer just about anyone in the world access to the most storied collection of family-friendly fare in the world? The company has 80 years of high-quality material produced by Disney, plus the Muppets, plus Pixar, plus just about everyone else who wholesome entertainment for kids.

Easy, because the goal of Disney today is to avoid wholesome family fare.

At Instapundit today there is a bit of a quip on a post concerning Assisted suicide in Canada:

The Doctor Can’t See You Right Now, Would You Like to Kill Yourself Instead? “Stage Four lung cancer? MAID. Permanently disabled and unable to care for yourself? MAID. Chronic pain? MAID. Down in the dumps? MAID. Are you one of those icky poor people? MAID.”

All of this can be summed up with one simple sentence:

“Your like sucks so would you care to commit a mortal sin as the last act of your life before you meet your maker?”

That’s the truth in advertising for assisted suicide that nobody wants to say aloud.

Tucker Carlson had the former head of the capital police on his Twitter / X show yesterday redoing an interview that he had done at Fox but was never aired.

People seem shocked that it was never aired, I don’t see why, after all does anybody really think that the folks who gave the signal that the fix was in (the Arizona call) would not do all they can to preserve the narrative?

Oddly the first thought I had when hearing about this was it’s exactly the type of thing that got Drudge started, when the MSM passed on the Clinton Dress story. I guess that means in 2043 Tucker will sell out and go left.

The American Spectator has a piece going over all the lies of the left during this administration. Again I don’t understand the shock. When you’re stealing elections, imprisoning people for prayer and prosecuting your political enemies lying is pretty small potatoes.

What’s more I suspect a lot of folks who support them know that they are lying but consider power more important than truth, just like the left knew Barack Obama was lying about opposing Gay marriage but pretended otherwise for the sake of the narrative.

Finally very few people are talking about this canary in the coal mine:

US paper mills are scaling back production as big-box retailers buy less cardboard, signaling a slowdown in consumer spending.

This tells me the worst is yet to come, I’ve already seen part of the worst as this week my 40 hour week was only 30 hours, last week it was 36, the week before it was 32 and I suspect I won’t see a 40 hour week at my job any time this month and it would not surprise me if that’s true for next month too.

Oh well, it beat getting laid off and I suspect a lot of folks will be seeing that soon.

So let me get this straight:

The NYT & the MSM don’t have a problem with Doxing (that is giving out the home address of) Tucker Carlson.

The Democrats Mayors are united in demanding the President Trump not send in or remove the Department of Homeland Security in cities where they’ve been deployed protect federal property (like Portland Oregon) as they cede control of their cities to the mob:

BUT we are told by these same people that when strangers call their house to ask them who they are going to vote for, any suggestion that a large cross section of GOP voters in general and Donald Trump supporters in Particular are not being forthcoming is nonsense.

Seriously?
