A lot of people spend a lot of time going after Western Civilization in general and White Men in particular as the cause of all the evils in the world, which I find very amusing as they are living in comfort thanks to the actions of a bunch of these old dead white men.

You have electricity in your house because of an old white man (Edison), you have a car in your yard because of of an old white man (Ford & others), you have a stove to cook with because of an old white man (Franklin), You have a flush toilet thanks to an old white man (or several), a water heater in your house thanks to an old white man (Maughan), a furnace thanks to a couple of old white man (Babcock and Wilcock) although you can give Alice Parker a black woman credit for central heating.

Bottom line there are a bunch of things that people take for granted that came from white men that their in no rush to abandon.

I bring this up today because there is a blizzard heading for my area and people are getting stocked up and ready for it.

The fact that they are able to know what’s coming and be ready for it can be laid at the feat of a bunch of dead white men. The old white men who developed the weather service and the observation stations that monitor the weather and just as important the old white men named Morse and Bell that invented the telegraph and the telephone which allowed these observations to be reported and coordinated.

If it were not for all these old dead white men we would have no clue, so if you survive this storm safe and sound give a bit of thanks to all those old white men who made it possible, and if acknowledging these facts trigger you too much to do so publicly do it privately.

Closing thought: The reality is the race of these men is not really relevant to what they did, but our friends on the left had decided that race is the most important thing in the world to consider on anything so I decided to play by their rules today.

Anyone living in a Democrat controlled state, such as the People’s Republic of Massachusetts, are well aware that the Wuhan Virus pandemic has revealed an even more malevolent and insidious pandemic amongst our Democrat brethren.  The pandemic I’m referring to is one of tyranny, oppression, and outright fascism.

Elected Democrat officials, at all levels of government here in the United States, have imposed draconian restrictions on the people under their dominion, in the name of fighting a virus with a better than a 99.7 percent survival rate.

These draconian restrictions, including mask mandates, lockdowns, vaccine mandates, and vaccine passports, are embraced by a very significant majority of those living in this country who identify as Democrats.

According to this Rasmussen survey, nearly half of all Democrats would be in favor of imposing far more tyrannical restrictions to fight the Wuhan Flu.

Fifty-eight percent (58%) of voters would oppose a proposal for federal or state governments to fine Americans who choose not to get a COVID-19 vaccine. However, 55% of Democratic voters would support such a proposal, compared to just 19% of Republicans and 25% of unaffiliated voters.

Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Democratic voters would favor a government policy requiring that citizens remain confined to their homes at all times, except for emergencies, if they refuse to get a COVID-19 vaccine. Such a proposal is opposed by 61% of all likely voters, including 79% of Republicans and 71% of unaffiliated voters.

Nearly half (48%) of Democratic voters think federal and state governments should be able to fine or imprison individuals who publicly question the efficacy of the existing COVID-19 vaccines on social media, television, radio, or in online or digital publications. Only 27% of all voters – including just 14% of Republicans and 18% of unaffiliated voters – favor criminal punishment of vaccine critics.

Forty-five percent (45%) of Democrats would favor governments requiring citizens to temporarily live in designated facilities or locations if they refuse to get a COVID-19 vaccine. Such a policy would be opposed by a strong majority (71%) of all voters, with 78% of Republicans and 64% of unaffiliated voters saying they would Strongly Oppose putting the unvaccinated in “designated facilities.”

While about two-thirds (66%) of likely voters would be against governments using digital devices to track unvaccinated people to ensure that they are quarantined or socially distancing from others, 47% of Democrats favor a government tracking program for those who won’t get the COVID-19 vaccine.

The contents of this survey are exceptionally shocking to me.  I’ve studied the true history of the United States, not the extremely odious revisionist crap that has been shoveled to college students for several decades.  I’ve studied the original meaning of the Constitution in extreme detail.  World history, with a particular focus on the carnage caused by tyrannical governments, is also my passion.  I am absolutely outraged that such a significant percentage of Democrats support out right tyrannical policies, the same policies that led to the deaths of over 100 million individuals last century.

The fault lies with us Libertarians and Conservatives.  We allowed the political left to take over our entire educational system and we abandoned the culture war to the left as well.  This needs to be righted immediately if we are to make sure this current nightmare is finally ended, and is never repeated.  I know that is a very tall order but it is one we must begin immediately.

Today is “Everybody blog about Mass Formation Psychosis day but when it comes down to it I think this is just giving a name to good old fashioned propaganda.

It’s the same type of thing that’s been in play in the various communist paradises for a century, it’s what was deployed in Germany under der Führer and it’s been the type of thing used to move populations all the way back to the war of Jenkins ear and before.

It’s just that today with mass media, the net, and all the other stuff whereby if someone farts in Uganda in the morning it’s on youtube by 11 am it’s been refined to an art. An evil and destructive art.

Many tyrants and leaders from history would recognize what’s being played today and marvel at it jealously but it’s to quote Aerosmith: The same old song and dance.

You can beat it with knowledge and reason but we’ve been sorely lacking of that lately so let me ask you one thing:

Do you want to be a serf or not?

That’s what it comes down to

Hall of Fame Talk Who belongs in

If you want to know why baseball, the most perfect sport there is continues to die a slow death consider this fact concerning Baseball’s Hall of Fame

Baseball’s all time leaders in

  • Games
  • Plate Appearances
  • At Bats
  • Hits
  • Home Runs
  • Walks
  • Intentional Walks

Are either by vote or by exclusion not in the Hall of Fame.

Furthermore one of the most successful pitchers in the game both in the regular season and the post season is excluded because he does not support the political party favored by baseball writers, even though he was the center of one of the most heroic moments in the history of the game.

My own HOF standard is simple there are two ways to judge it.

  1. If someone says to you “Is ‘x’ good enough for the Hall of Fame and you have to think about it, then they are not.
  2. If you are afraid if this player that you don’t want coming up against you to bat or pitch with the game on the line then he is a Hall of Famer.

All that being under rules 1 & 2 Ortiz belongs in the hall, but so does Clemens, Bonds and Schilling hands down,

As for the vets committee. Under rule 1 Minoso belongs in, Under rule 2 Oliva belongs in and I have no beef with O’Neil or Hodges who I never saw play or Kaat who while not a great pitcher was a very good pitcher for two decades so you might add a sustained quality exception in that he while never the best was quality long beyond the norm.

FYI concerning Rose. I think Pete Rose is one of the best players who ever played the game. In my 1969 league he was my #1 pick. He played harder and worked harder than anyone in the game. He’s exactly the type of guy you want in your clubhouse or to build a team around. It’s no coincidence that a loaded Phillies team didn’t win their 1st world series until he as a 38 year old 16+ year vet showed up. I loved watching him play and if you put me in room with him I could listen to him talk baseball for hours.

All that being said if this was Harold Baines or Mike Greenwell nobody would question his being banned from the game. For 30 year he walked into ballparks past signs that said in effect:

Bet on baseball and you’ll be banned

And he did it anyways. I don’t think for one moment that he ever threw a game or bet against himself but that doesn’t enter into it. He’s guilty as sin and didn’t take the outs that were offered to him because I frankly think he was too competitive to do so. He looked on it as a game to win rather than an offer of mercy. That’s one him

With sports gambling now legal if MLB wants to reverse this sometime before he dies I don’t have an issue with it but he bet on baseball and while I think the ban is sad and might even be counterproductive at this point. It is just.

My thought: last year was the 175th anniversary of the 1st professional baseball game. I think in honor of that and whatever settlement baseball reaches to avoid a lockout a general amnesty should be declared for all players at any level for offenses against the game.

That would allow us to celebrate the game we loved and enjoyed.
