The AP reports that Mass cities and towns should expect aid cuts:

House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi pushed Monday for legislation that would allow cities and towns to join the Massachusetts’ insurance plan despite objections by local unions, saying the move could save municipalities millions as they brace for possible cuts in state aid of up to 10 percent next year.

Well I have a Plan B to make up for my lost job. When I went to pay my water bill today I see the assessors office has a plan B too:

Multiply that by thousands of roofs and they may have a winner, but I think my plan is better

That’s all Fitchburg can do? Over here a few towns over we are fixing to get much more than a parking ticket from ‘Ol Saint Nick’. We plan on making sure that our law enforcement authorities check that the sleigh is properly registered, has a valid inspection sticker, and it’s driver has a active license. I believe this is a commercial vehicle and the driver would need a CDL license. Hope Santa hasn’t sampled any eggnog with alcohol as the CDL OUI requirements are I believe .02. There is also some question as to whether the sleighs propulsion system of 12 Reindeer meet current emission requirements. We also will be double checking that he does not park improperly on the streets as my town has a parking ban in effect at 12AM on many of it’s streets. Hmmm, maybe the guys in our garage can come up with a special “boot” for the sleigh.
