Not even a small argument today, just another thanks for those who hit DaTipJar keeping the percentages moving even if they are moving every so slightly.
It isn’t over till it’s actually over and it will take more than a slow start to end the game.

Well today is D-Day when we remember the landings at Normandy and the troops who fought and died in the greatest amphibious invasion in history.
As the generation that fought this battle and their children die we tend to forget what was done that day. We have only the history channel and movies to remind us.
In my youth it was The Longest Day. It was played on D-Day every year on some UHF network.
Notice a young Sean Connery in his pre-bond days, in fact this was the last movie he was in before Dr. No.
Today for a later generation we have Band of Brothers episode.
Remember just as the minstrels kept stories alive in olden days so are films the modern day minstrels that will remind a generation of the greatness of their fathers.
As for my own D-Day I have been told conflicting things. I was told a few months ago that this would be the last week of my unemployment. Yet the last time I was at the office a couple of weeks ago I was told I had one final extension that I had been told I didn’t qualify for before.
Which one is right? I hope the latter but I hope be ready for the former.
…apparently Lanni Davis, Craig Crawford and her publisher have had enough:
I concur with the following response from my agent to Helen Thomas’ lamentable remarks about Israel, and will no longer be working with Helen on our book projects. — Craig Crawford
“It is with a heavy heart that Nine Speakers, Inc. announces its resignation as the agent for Helen Thomas, Dean of the White House Press Corps. Ms. Thomas has had an esteemed career as a journalist, and she has been a trailblazer for women, helping others in her profession, and beyond. However, in light of recent events, Nine Speakers is no longer able to represent Ms. Thomas, nor can we condone her comments on the Middle East. Nine Speakers will continue to enthusiastically represent all of our other current and future clients.”
Meanwhile while I don’t share the insult the woman’s looks bit at the other McCain (hey at that age simply being alive is pretty good) but I do agree with him concerning Rachel Corrie vs Shiri Negari
Shiri died that day, just two weeks before her 22nd birthday, in a blast that ended the lives of 18 other people ranging in age from 11 to 72. They were all killed on orders of Hamas — the same terrorist organization that rules Gaza, where 23-year-old Rachel Corrie arrived to join the anti-Israeli ISM contigent in January 2003, barely seven months after the blast that destroyed Bus No. 32A.
If you want another explanation why I stand with Israel, this is one of them.
I’ve very happy that he’s been checking out the the revised Dr. Who series including the new season with Matt Smith this year. I totally approve both of him checking it out and the series in general.
I haven’t talked much about the Matt Smith episodes because there is a three week gap between England’s broadcasts (which I have watched using a proxy server) checked out the new season of Dr. Who that I think has been absolutely fantastic.
Matt Smith soars in the role. He reminds me of the best parts of Jon Pertwee & Tom Baker only younger. The Eleventh Hour ranks as one of the best re-generation episodes of the entire series. You have to go to Castrovalva to find one as good.
There has only been one episode (this week’s Vincent and the Doctor) that I would consider mediocre and one episode that was pretty much good but had a poor resolution (Vampire’s of Venice) but other than that is is really first rate.
He is also spending some time with the wife in Baltimore. It is unfortunately just as cheap to go to Baltimore to watch the Red Sox than it is to go to Fenway and pay the prices there.
Ah the joys of being a Red Sox fan.
