This caught me by surprise

Now me may believe this or he may not but it speaks volumes to the reality of where the GOP base vs where the left MSM says it is that a pol named George Bush who wishes to advance in the party felt the need to say this publicly.

This not so much:

In 2017, Philadelphians elected “progressive prosecutor” Larry Krasner as district attorney. Since taking office, Krasner has pursued a policy of de-prosecution—the decision not to prosecute certain crimes regardless of whether they actually took place—as homicides have spiked.

This surprised me a bit:

I would have thought whoever was in charge, you know the folks who actually ordered this tweeted out might have thought this was a bridge too far.

This not so much:

“The Jesuit priest who presided over an inaugural Mass for President Joe Biden has resigned his position as president of Santa Clara University in Northern California, college officials said, after an investigation found he engaged in inappropriate, alcohol-fueled conversations with graduate students.

“The Rev. Kevin O’Brien, at the direction of Jesuit officials, has begun a therapeutic outpatient program to address personal issues, including alcohol and stress counseling. He had been president of Santa Clara University since July 2019 and was placed on leave in March.

Well I’m surprised a little, that the AP reported it that is.

But I’m not surprised that they haven’t touched this much:

A devastating letter written by Arizona Senate President Karen Fann on voting irregularities, and probably fraud, in Maricopa County during the 2020 Presidential Election. Even the database was illegally deleted after the subpoena to produce the information. Senate President Fann has invited Maricopa County officials to a public hearing on May 18 to allow them the opportunity to try to explain what happened to the missing databases, ballots, and other significant issues. 

The “big lie” is that Joe Biden won election 2020.

And finally I actually thought this was a Babylon Bee headline when I saw it:

 Muslim Brotherhood Praises Dems for Abandoning Israel in Time of War.

They’re not bothering to hide it anymore because that’s where their base is.

Lack of resistance to Coronavirus lockdowns and mask mandates is the price we are now paying for decades of liberal indoctrination

I am completely astounded that these Coronavirus lockdowns and mask mandates lasted more than one month, yet alone over a year.  I expected mass resistance by people of all but the bluest states to have put an end to these liberty and economy destroying restrictions way back before last summer. 

Yep it is obvious to everyone reading this that I miscalculated rather badly.  My defense is that I have studied non-revisionist American history in great detail.  I was raised on concepts such as Patrick Henry’s famous quote “Give me Liberty or Death.”  I don’t know about you but I think he would be outraged that in just 246 years almost the entire nation has surrendered their liberty because they are afraid of a disease with a 99.8 percent survival rate.

 Here is another quote, this one by Benjamin Franklin, which has been so ignored by our abysmal educational system that the concept is completely alien to almost anyone over the age of 30:

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Liberty was a concept that was universally cherished and understood by all of the citizens of the United States from before the Revolution until the end of the 1960s.  Liberty is a concept that is not valued at all by the leftists that took over colleges and universities.  They actually despise liberty because it is the exact opposite of the collectivism that they cherish.

The definition of liberty espoused by the Founding Fathers of this nation states that liberty is the freedom of individual to do as they wish as long as they do not hurt others or interfere with the rights of others. Liberty is a concept that is deeply grounded in individualism.  There is no such thing as collective liberty.  Collectivism is the enslavement of individuals to the needs and whims a collective group such as a nation, a race, or a class.

Liberty is deeply rooted in freedom.  It is freedom coupled with the responsibility to do no harm to any other individuals.  It has not been proved scientifically that going maskless and ignoring lockdowns actually harms individuals. Forcing individuals to wear masks and locking down a society are violations of the liberty of those living in the society. 

If the original understanding of liberty was still taught in schools instead of collectivism these liberty destroying restrictions would have ended by the people soon after they were instituted.

For the past several decades school children and college students have been brainwashed into believing that the earth is in eminent danger from the mythical beast known as man caused global warming.  They have been brainwashed into believing the most absurd junk science ever.  They have been brainwashed into believing that no one can ever question anything that is labeled science by a leftist expert.  Decades of climate change indoctrination has left a large majority of the inhabitants of the US unusually susceptible to all of the junk science behind mask mandates and lockdowns.

If we do not come up with a serious plan to tackle the rampant indoctrination that has infected all levels of our educational system these types of liberty and economy destroying restrictions will become the new normal.

Five Reasons why signing Tebow Makes Sense but signing Kaepernick doesn’t

The left is having a hissy fit over the Jacksonville Jaguars signing of 33 years old Tim Tebow when the 33 year old Colin Kaepernick does not have an NFL job (not that he actually wants one but I digress). For those who have to deal with such people here are five quick reasons why signing Tebow makes much more sense than signing Kaepernick.

  1. Tebow is in professional sports shape.

While Kaepernick’s last game in the NFL was in 2016 and Tebow’s in 2012 Tebow has spent the last three years playing minor league ball in the Mets system rising to the AAA level before deciding to leave baseball this year. Thus the 33 year old Tebow not only is in playing shape while Kaepernick is not but he’s had three years of the routine of playing and being in shape to play daily.

2. Tebow’s most recent NFL Stats are better than Kaepernick’s

In his last two seasons as a starter Colin Kaepernick went 3-16 with no playoff appearances and was benched for lack of success

In his last two seasons as a starter Tim Tebow went 8-6 including a victory in the 1st round of the playoffs and oddly was benched despite his success.

3. Tebow is coming back as a TE,

Over the years teams that weren’t impressed with Tebow as a QB were still impressed with him as an athlete and were open to signing him at another position (Remember Julian Edelman was a QB in college) over the years Tebow steadfastly refused wanting to play QB. Tebow finally being willing to accept this fact is a big part of his being signed.

Meanwhile advocates for Kaepernick not only insist that he be a QB but also suggest that anything other than a starting QB (with a salary for a starting QB) would be beneath him. I have no idea if Kaepernick is interested in another position (WR?) but he’s not made any indication that he’d be willing to try one.

4. A Christian Brother to help Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville

Tebow brings a unique advantage to Jacksonville who just drafted Trevor Lawrence with the 1st pick.

Lawrence is very publicly a devout Christian in a society that is not kind to Christianity. Tebow is a very public Christian who has taken the slings and arrows for it. Tebow’s signing give Lawrence not only a Christian Brother in the clubhouse to confide in but a Christian brother who was a 1st round QB with direct experience in how to handle what the NFL will throw at him. Furthermore the attention that Tebow catches might lighten the load of the same on Lawrence.

Colin Kaepernick could not do this for Jacksonville and it’s very likely that for any team that he signed he would be more a distraction than an asset.

5. Tebow brings fans, Kaepernick chases them away.

Finally everyone forgets that the primary job of a sports franchise is to sell tickets, merchandise and eyeballs. Tim Tebow will not only draw fans but draw good publicity.

With a fan base already sick of “woke” sports Colin Kaepernick would chase fans away from the game and keep those who were thinking of coming back away.

The NYT GOP 100 the Next Lincoln Project or LCWR I’m betting on the later

The rather amusing piece from the NYT via Redstate saying that the GOP risks losing 100 prominent republicans over Trump and start their own party is great fodder for the Time’s readership that wouldn’t know a conservative if it bit them.

The problem for these brave intrepid rebels is that they’re caught between two fires.

If there goal is to be the next Lincoln project and make a bundle for themselves and their family then it’s easy. They can form a party, they can get financed by the left and they can make proclamation that will get some coverage but unfortunately will not be all that newsworthy because they will in fact be a party with no actual voter base, no candidates running anywhere and no people actually bein led.

No what they really want to be are the unfaithful nuns that I wrote about years ago back in April 2013 when the Pope backed up the findings of the investigations (begun under Benedict) on Catholic Nuns in America:

The LCWR will not choose to leave the church, they will go along, slowly, struggling and resisting but they will go along. The moment they leave the church, they change from brave dissenters within the church to just another splinter group with their own set of beliefs and while the media will make a fuss the first day and maybe the first week, they would no longer be worthy of the pulpit that they would raise them on

And a year later I wrote about what Fr. Z said about what happened to one such group that did in fact leave:

Consider if you will the group NCAN, an even more radical splinter group of the LCWR, which has fulfilled Sr. Joan’s dream of being without canonical structure.  Their site is HERE, though it has not been updated since 2009 when they gave their coveted Margaret Ellen Traxler Award to Sr. Louise Lears, SC, whom then-Archbishop Raymond Burke of St. Louis placed under interdict for her support of the ordination of women and her attending a fake “ordination”. These days the NCAN types are reduced to holding chat sessions in gated communities for three cats and a tumbleweed rather than in hotels for hundreds of sisters. As long as the NYT 100 remain in the GOP, they can speak as party members, attend GOP events and even CPAC with the tag (R) next to them. , you can have them on CNN or MSNBC or quote them as “Republican officials” when they hit the party or Trump or conservatives or any other GOP member who you know actually pushes the agenda that GOP voters want.

They will be the LCWR until they like them begin to die out.

The moment they leave that is no longer the case.

So it remains to be seen if they choose the former or the latter, I suspect they will choose the later because the leftists who would pay them to form their new party can still pay them sub-rosa for speaking engagements or phony book sales to have the money flowing.
