Cripes go to deposit the rent and eat some lunch and now we have news of a 2 hour conference call between Blagojevich and the Obamaites. Gateway pundit is on it:
This is the same call where Blags famously uses profanity to refer to his good friend, Barack Obama, “F— him. For nothing? F— him.”.
This is getting out of control rather quickly maybe even to the point where the media can’t pretend it isn’t important anymore.
What I’m really waiting for is the start of the conspiracy Reverend Wright card by that I mean when will we see somebody suggest that all of this is just a conspiracy to either disable the first black president or to keep him from taking office.
Don’t think for one moment that the same demagogues that preach black liberation theology won’t do it. It is their bread and butter. They will cash in on this in the same way the 9/11 truthers and the Obama birth certificate stuff people are doing so.
You don’t think people are cashing in? Somebody is buying those books, somebody is buying those tee-shirts and buttons. That means someone is writing them and making them. And don’t forget its guys like these that are a cheap source of attack for someone who wants to make trouble.
I think we’ll see it before my LogMeIn trial period expires.
UPDATE: Nope. I don’t know how the last three words in the first sentence of the 5th paragraph were lost but there are back there now.

When are we going to quit calling Obama our “first black” president? The man had a “white” mother for God’s sake. The best that does is makes him a mixed-race president-elect.
Well said and the day when the skin color of the president elect Obama is not an issue will be a fine day for this country.
In that spirit shall we also then decide that the election of Sen Obama should no longer be considered an historic event, that my local Barnes and Noble should no longer bother to offer the post election day issue of the New York Times for sale and MSNBC will stop selling the Obama story as a special book?
The president elect is what he is. A rather inexperienced pol of the Chicago school with a gift of prepared oratory, a calm demeanor and great potential who happens to be bi-racial and who used that fact to good advantage in the last election. Hopefully he will put his potential to good use in the service of our country. I’m personally hoping he will be more of a Chester Arthur then a Jimmy Carter.
Still don’t know how this scandal relates to OBAMA. You guys would just love to pull him into this mess. It’s obvious from the transcripts that his team was not part of the whole pay for play scam.
That’s a fair point. There is no direct evidence to suggest the president elect attempted to sell the seat but consider the following:
The Bush league attempts of the Obama team to deny evening meeting the with the Governor and the apparent clumsy attempts to control the message are in sharp contrast to the well oiled campaign.
Apparently the Governor who attempted to sell the office had no problem approaching the president elect’s office for a “bid”. The apparent anger of said Governor at his refusal to play ball may be a Chester Arthur point for Obama, but consider that anger, it wasn’t the anger of a man expecting to be refused cold (which come to think of it is even more Chester Arthurish as Arthur was a machine guy who turned straight on assuming the presidency) he expected the Obama team to play ball because they are from the same sinkhole of Chicago politics.
It’s the old fleas and dog story, but the fleas can be shed. The reason for shedding them (respect for the office or increased scrutiny) is less important than the shedding itself. The question is will any of those old flea bites become infected and why didn’t the Vet (read media) check for fleas before the election?
Frankly it doesn’t matter to me one way or the other if he is drawn in. I have low expectations but high hopes when it comes to the new administration so it won’t take much for me to be pleasantly surprised. It will be better for the country all around if he is a successful president.
[…] will never admit defeat, that hurts the book sales, conference sales and speaking fees as suggested in this post. The subject is different but the tactics are the same, make a buck. When it comes to these guys […]
