7:49 a.m. Maria of the beautiful Italian eyes (sigh) regretfully admits that the bonus have to be paid due to contract. No Italian American like myself can look at eyes like that and not melt.

While discussing the AIG bonus scandal this morning, Congressman Elijah Cummings said “we all must make sacrifices.” I guess that means he refused his 2009 pay raise. Leaders should lead by example and accepting a pay raise when the country feels as a whole Congress is doing less than an adequate job, may be a little like AIG execs accepting bonuses when they did less than an adequate job.
Exactly right, perhaps they should all also return every single dollar any of these companies game them in contributions.
