Don’t forget back in 1990 the people in his district didn’t mind a gay prostitute operating out of Frank’s apartment. The media has almost totally ignored his part in Fannie mae and Freddie Mac.
Why would he have any sense that this is going to change now?
We always get the government we deserve, in Massachusetts doubly so.

I’m from Massachusetts and couldn’t agree more. We have no viable candidates! You’d have to be a citizen of the Bay State to understand how entrenched these guys are and how difficult it is to unseat them once they’re in office. Massachusetts is probably the model that Obama is using on the Federal level. Make the voters beholden to you for their very existence then they’ll have to vote you into office to survive. A one-party state eats itself from the inside, breeds corruption, increases government employees reliant on you, but it can’t be replaced and once the federal government does the same thing then we become a one-party nation. We voted for McGovern, for Christ’s sake! I don’t know what’s going to happen but I do believe that whatever happens there will be voter fraud and the average people won’t be heard in our state. We, the citizens, are “battered taxpayers” that have accepted our fate until we figure out we have to move to another state if we have the means to do it once the government has taken its share of the fruits of our hard work and earnings. We need outside help!
To continue: we have legislators that passed laws to give themselves automatic raises every year so they don’t have to do it themselves, that passed laws that increased their pay IF THEY GOT VOTED OUT OF OFFICE, so they can suck more money out of the taxpayers for the rest of their lives, we have minority politicians that pull the race card out every time they get caught taking graft or sell out their constituents, and people behind the scenes that control things to the point where the “big dig” happened and we took it for granted that it was inevitable. Again, we need outside help!
That’s true but it’s our own fault. We elect and re-elect these guys. We elected Deval Patrick (personally a nice guy and willing to listen) who has frankly been over his head.
The Massachusetts governors election was the trial run for the president Obama’s presidential run. Axelrod did a fine job then and a fine job in 2008. We do this to ourselves here in Massachusetts. It’s on us.
I don’t think we need outside help so much as we need the willingness to stand up and do something about it and have a thick enough skin to not worry about what the media or a liberal says about us.
