I’m going to give everyone the weekend off for long reasons why you should kick into the Am I worth half as much as Andrew Sullivan fundraiser and just give a quick one instead along with a thank you to those who have kicked in so far.
You should kick in because George Soros sure won’t, particularly after my posts on Israel this week. So If Soros isn’t going to do it I’ll have to rely on you to hit DaTipJar.

Since you mentioned Soros, it brings up a point that I have been wondering about for a while. It seems that we have an odd lack of generous Conservative Billionaires. While Soros may be the worst of the bunch, there are a fair number of activist billionaires spreading their cash around, particularly among the left-coast techie/internet crowd but not limited to that group, and they seem to all be Leftists. Why is that? Haven’t we been told for years by the Democrats that the Republicans are the party of the filthy rich? The only Republican billionaires that come to mind in politics are a few who limit their donations primarily to their own campaign funds to get themselves elected to office, and who fall into the fiscally-moderate socially-liberal RINO category. Where have all the conservative billionaires gone? Where is the right-wing George Soros?
Well although I would be very happy to be sponsored by such a person in the end it is their money and what they choose to do with it is their business. It’s up to them to decide is a blogger like me or anyone else is a good investment for the causes they believe in or not.
For that matter it’s true for Soros too. It’s his money and if he wants to spend it to advance causes he believes in, that’s his right. If we on the right want to highlight that spending and the fact that those causes stink, that’s our right too.
