Local Candidate Mike Stopa on Sean Hannity tonight

Stopa is one of the republicans/tea party candidates running to oppose Jim McGovern:

Stopa on the Mosque in NY: The Cordova initiative is funding this and is not good cross cultural, moving the Mosque would be a good outreach by these people, will they?

On the NASA topic: The greatest symbol of American exceptionalism is the space program, would be an ideal thing for them because it squashes American exceptionalism while promoting Islamic outreach. The president is a dilettante. He has no interest in outer space, it’s not on his agenda.

On Arizona: He brings up the apologizing for the Arizona law to China. Points out the reaction of the district to this is negative. He says the first thing we should do in the next congress is helping the states enforce the existing laws.

He looked good but really didn’t have a lot of screen time to work with. With Juan Williams and S. E. Cupp that’s some heavy competition for attention. He needed to be jumping in more, but he make some pretty good points. He certainly helped himself tonight.

…Benjamin Todd Jealous makes the charge on Larry King live. Teaparty365 member David Webb points out the 100k challenge and lack of evidence, and head of NAACP plays the John Lewis wouldn’t lie card.

Who are you going to believe a ton of video evidence (or lack thereof) from hundreds of recording devices there or one guy with a vested interest in bullshitting?

He challenges Jealous directly to condemn King Shamier Shabbaz. He says the New Black Panther party should condemn him and claims that “he has done that here”.

Update:
Nancy Giles again says Washington Happened Dana Loesch calls her a liar and callers her out on it, Giles keeps maintaining it. Ben Stein says the tea party will hurt the GOP (totally wrong) and Stephanie Miller goes on about signs and guns. Some serious BS going on here.

Miller and Giles are now saying Johnston is lying now and say it on the show, amazing supposedly he is lying for the money now but wasn’t for the money then? What a couple of loons.

I’m kinda biased here…

…particularly since it is my son’s birthday who had such a good experience with apple, so I absolutely love this:

Hey, you know what I like to do sometimes when I’m talking on a telephone? Hold the phone up against my ear. With my hand.

I’ve got an iPhone and it’s great. I’d definitely be interested in the new one, if it actually functioned as advertised. Apple is a great company that also sucks, which might be why it draws in so many suckers. Need somebody to buy your shiny new product that doesn’t work? There’s a sap for that!

There is some news from Illinois via the American Papist on the Illinois firing scandal. Take a peek at the form letter they are sending out:

I learned of this action on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) campus late last week and immediately asked Chancellor Robert Easter, who oversees the campus, to provide me with a briefing on the matter. I want to assure you that the University administration shares my commitment to the principles of academic freedom. At the same time, we do believe it’s important to fully investigate all of the details related to this situation. As I’m sure you’re aware, it is sometimes the case that public reports may convey only part of the story. I think it important to reserve judgment until I have all of the facts and I hope you’ll agree.

We have asked the UIUC Senate’s standing Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure to immediately review this action. This is the mechanism on the campus through which these matters should be vetted. We expect this review to be completed very soon. By using our channels of shared governance and review, we are in the best position to make informed decisions that afford a fair process for all.

If you don’t think these guys are worried, you’re right:

Chancellor Robert Easter has asked the University of Illinois’ Senate Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure to determine whether the university violated the academic freedom and right to free speech of adjunct professor Dr. Kenneth Howell.

Howell, who has taught in the university’s Department of Religion since 2001, was recently fired for explaining in a class on Catholicism that the Church believes that homosexual behavior violates natural moral law.

University President Michael Hogan addressed faculty senators on Monday, after receiving 100 e-mails about Howell’s case, reported The News-Gazette.

“We want to be able to reassure ourselves there was no infringement on academic freedom here,” Hogan said. “This is a very, very important, not to mention a touchy and sensitive, issue. Did this cross the line somehow?”

Why are they worried? Because they are being noticed.
