When Joe Biden finally gave his first speech since being installed in the White House he demonstrated just how frail he is and how diminished his mental faculties are.  He also displayed to the country how clueless he is when it comes to the core principles that were at the founding of this great nation.

This first quote from the Transcript: President Joe Biden on the coronavirus pandemic proves that he is a the most radical leftist that has ever inhabited the Oval Office.

Look, we know what we need to do to beat this virus: Tell the truth. Follow the scientists and the science. Work together. Put trust and faith in our government to fulfill its most important function, which is protecting the American people — no function more important.

We need to remember the government isn’t some foreign force in a distant capital. No, it’s us. All of us. “We the People.” For you and I, that America thrives when we give our hearts, when we turn our hands to common purpose. And right now, my friends, we are doing just that. And I have to say, as your President, I am grateful to you.

Thomas Jefferson and James Madison would be outraged to hear a president state that we should “put our trust and faith in government” even an illegitimate president.  They would condemn the locking down of this nation and the widespread theft of the liberty from more than half the population of this country under the guise of protecting us.

Sorry Joe Biden but the government of the United States and “we the people” are not the same thing at all.  Not even close. Sorry but America does not thrive “when we give our hearts, when we turn our hands to common purpose.”  That is collectivists garbage that is spouted by socialist dictators.

This next quote goes against science, medical knowledge, and the Constitution all at the same time.

in the coming weeks, we will issue further guidance on what you can and cannot do once fully vaccinated, to lessen the confusion, to keep people safe and encourage more people to get vaccinated.

How dare the government at any level tell the American people what they can and cannot do.  That is as un-American as ou can get. The Constitution does not grant  any branch of the federal government the power to dictate what we the people can or cannot do.  Why the hell would you need to restrict the freedom of those vaccinated in any way?  Vaccinated people are immune from the virus and cannot spread it.  There is not even any scientific basis for restricting the freedom of non vaccinated individuals.

The next quote pinged the irony needle so forcefully that it broke.  Imagine the chutzpah of the “president” telling Americans what they can do on Independence Day.

Because here’s the point: If we do all this, if we do our part, if we do this together, by July the 4th, there’s a good chance you, your families, and friends will be able to get together in your backyard or in your neighborhood and have a cookout and a barbecue and celebrate Independence Day. That doesn’t mean large events with lots of people together, but it does mean small groups will be able to get together.

This next quote made me laugh hysterically.

So my message to you is this: Listen to Dr. Fauci, one of the most distinguished and trusted voices in the world.

As you can see from this next quote, Joe Biden is threatening us wittle childwen with more punishment if we do not behave according to his dictates.

And national unity isn’t just how politics and politicians vote in Washington or what the loudest voices say on cable or online. Unity is what we do together as fellow Americans. Because if we don’t stay vigilant and the conditions change, then we may have to reinstate restrictions to get back on track.

Five Inconvenient Catholic Facts Under the Fedora

Posted: March 18, 2021 by datechguy in Uncategorized

All sorts of virtues painted in the fantasy or approved by the intellect or even, in some measure, loved and admired, will not keep a man from Our Father’s house: indeed they make him more amusing when he gets there.”

C. S. Lewis Screwtape 7

Reuters promoted a story saying that some Catholic Priests will defy the Vatican and bless same sex weddings.

The Catholic Church has a term for such people who defy doctrine for their own spin, they are called “Protestants”.

For myself I’ve always called them what they actually are: “Catholics for Mortal Sin”.

All of this reminds me of the entire Transgender business.

The people who are getting bits of themselves cut up are mentally ill, but are so desperate to been seen as normal and are willing to go to great, even destructive lengths to deceive themselves in order and to convince or impose on society that this standard of insanity is a beautiful thing.

That’s bad but the real evil comes from the Physicians , the psychologists and the surgeons who know better who take advantage of these people for fun and prophet. As Christ said to Pilate: “You would have no power over me if it had not been given to you from above. For this reason the one who handed me over to you has the greater sin.” (John 19:11)

There is a reason why the sin of Pride is first among the mortal sins. It’s because it’s replacing one’s own judgement for that of God.

This is why these priests are guilty of the greater sin in giving a false blessing and abusing the rights of the church than the couple seeking it.

For the priest it’s all about them.

Is it not ironic that the couples involved do not respect obviously do not respect the teaching of the church by an open defiance of it , yet are apparently desperate to be seen to have the blessing of the God and the Church for what they are doing and have that blessing seen and acknowledged?

It reminds me of something that Fr. Z once said about the difference between a couple in an invalid marriage resolving to live as brother and sister receiving communion privately from the priest and going to confession if they fall and another defiantly going up for communion during mass.

One couple wants to receive Christ because it’s all about God, the other wants to be seen getting the wafer because it’s all about them. It’s not about submitting to God, it’s about God submitting to them.

It’s the sin of pride once again.

Looking at this it’s basically the difference between two famous gay Catholics Milo Yiannopoulos and Andrew Sullivan.

Both understood the church teaching on the subject of homosexuality and gay marriage but Milo acknowledged and struggled to conform himself to combat the mortal sins he was inclined toward while Andrew fought to have his mortal sins celebrated and blessed by church and state.

It’s still up in the air whether or not Milo will manage to win his fight against sin or go the way of Fr. Corapi but as a person who struggles with is own sins I’d rather be in Milo’s place pleading with God for help and mercy and forgiveness than Andrew’s place telling God what the score is and expecting a prize.

All of this by the way include a trap for everyone else. As I’ve noted Milo’s situation is much like that of the Tax Collector that Christ told of who approaches the alter with his head bowed saying: ‘O God, be merciful to me a sinner.’. The Trick is to make sure we don’t look at the Priests and the couples involved and declaring our righteousness before the Lord in comparison to them particularly for our own aggrandizement. As C.S. Lewis’ Screwtape puts it:

Once you have made the World an end, and faith a means, you have almost won your man, and it makes very little difference what kind of worldly end he is pursuing. Provided that meets, pamphlets, policies, movements, causes, and crusades, matter more to him than prayers and sacraments and charity, he is ours–and the more ‘religious’ (on those terms) the more securely ours. I could show you a pretty careful down here.

That’s the same sin of pride and it’s just a deadly or even more so. Rather we should pray for those involved while also confessing our own sins and asking for the mercy of God.

As I’ve said many times. Heaven will be no less glorious nor Hell any more bearable if we find ourselves next to someone we didn’t care for on Earth.

The Biden Administration is only two months old. God help us.

It has to be pretty bad at the Border for CBS to admit that it is a crisis with the Biden administration in power.

I’m becoming more and more convinced that the guard and the fencing isn’t because there was an insurrection on Jan sixth (there wasn’t) but because Democrats know that they intend to provoke the right to the point where there will be one or should I say a response to the successful insurrection on the morning after the election where the left stole power from the American people.

There has been a lot of talk in NE about how serious the New England Patriots and Bill Belichick are about returning to a playoff/contenting team spending 232 Million dollars (127 Million guaranteed) on new free agents in order to return the team back to contention.

I don’t pretend to be a football or economics expert but it seems to me that a $75 million dollar investment in Tom Brady would have cost less and guaranteed that the team remain a playoff team and contender for both the division and the AFC over the course of such a contract.

Finally I understand that LeBron James is now a minority owner of the Boston Red Sox.

This is a very good idea on his part, as long as he doesn’t try to turn them into the woke sox.

Common sense in South Dakota

If you want some common sense in this uncommon time, you should look toward South Dakota and its governor, Kristi Noem.

I have a strong fondness for South Dakota since I went to high school there and wrote a book about my teenage cronies.

But Noem makes sense when it comes to politics and policies.

At 49, she’s a rising star in the GOP and may have enough heft to seek the presidency in 2024. She served from 2007 to 2001 in the South Dakota legislature and then eight years in the U.S. House of Representatives until she became the state’s first female government in 2019.

During the pandemic, she took a rational approach to COVID-19. She did not implement face mask mandates and left communities the flexibility to do so. She expressed her doubts about mask-wearing for children because of studies on the decreased risk from exposure to the virus. As a result, she encouraged schools to stay open.

When vaccines became available, South Dakota’s distribution system was so flawless that The Wall Street Journal dubbed Noem “The Vaccine Queen.”

Noem is a pro-life, fiscal conservative who has railed against federal spending, such as the recent stimulus package.

She said she believes the package “bails out those states that shut down their economies” and “rewards them for making people stay in their homes and for taking away a business’ right to be open and take care of their customers and their employees.

“So it’s incredibly detrimental to our state because we made the right decisions. We trusted people,” she said. “We have the lowest unemployment rate in the nation and are tied for it with Nebraska, and we’re getting through this together.”

Noem complained that the package rewards Democrat strongholds like California, Illinois, and New York and punishes Republican states like South Dakota.

When MSNBC’s Joy Reid recently did a hit job, attacking Noem and the public event she attended last year at Mount Rushmore with President Trump, the South Dakota governor didn’t take back down.

“Some of today’s radical Left just hates America–and rather than being shunned, the most toxic voices are rewarded with TV shows and newspaper columns. Criticism of my policies isn’t enough. They must also attack America’s history and most basic institutions,” she told supporters. “I will fight back by doubling down on conservative principles. I’m only a target because we’ve been effective, and this is no time to let up.”

Kristi Noem talks common sense. It’s what makes her a serious possibility for 2024.
