A Reminder of What America’s Soul And Who Your Neighbor is. (Screwtape frowns)

There was a scholar of the law who stood up to test him and said, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

Jesus said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”

He said in reply, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”

He replied to him, “You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.”

But because he wished to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

A few months ago the house next door (You know the one Paulo worked so hard on) was bought and a new neighbor moved it. She is a statuesque black woman with three kids from age 9 -18 who was working from home even before the covid stuff took place.

My wife and her hit it off as did we. I liked seeing her boy riding his bike in the neighborhood playing with other kids, we found ourselves talking and chatting all during the summer about the plans for our homes, what going on with our kids etc.

About 5 months ago a Black Lives Matter sign went up in front of her house. I don’t know how familiar she is with the actual origins of the movement but as she moved from the south shore it was not odd to think a person from there would be politically to the left. I didn’t like it but it’s her house and what she puts on her property is her business. I wanted a Trump sign long ago myself but my wife has for years told me no political signs in the yard and that’s not a hill to die on (see tip #15) anyways these days a flag is as good as a Trump sign and frankly any person who knows, reads or googles me knows where I stand as I’m not particular shy about it.

Well Wednesday night the blizzard came, I drove home at midnight from work doing 30 on the highway and was relieved when I saw my wife’s car in the driveway since as a nurse she would have had to do a double if her relief didn’t make it in, The next morning the snow was still falling but all of us had to be to work so we started outside shoveling while my son with the bum leg got out the snow blower. The blower died after two minutes and no amount of tinkering could make it go for more than 10 seconds and there was still a bunch a lot to do and we all needed to leave

Enter our new neighbor. She said bluntly, to DaWife: “Don’t worry about it, do enough to get your cars out and I’ll snowblow the rest.

Sure enough when I got back home after working my to midnight shift everything I didn’t get in the back and all of the fount was snowblowed out which means that I actually have a day off today rather than a day of shoveling before me.

I’ve been very angry about this election, I’m angry about the theft of it (that theft isn’t from Trump it’s from me and 80 million others like me) I’m angry about the openness of said theft and the cowardice of those unwilling to call it out, I’m angry at the courts and the legislatures who have the power to stop it from I’m angry at the thought that I don’t know if my vote when cast actually is being counted for the person I’m voting for and as a Computer Science major, someone familiar with higher level math and as a Sicilian I’m particularly angry at those those who insult my intelligence by pretending or insisting it didn’t happen while the mathematical, statistical and physical evidence is in front of my face.

But I know this much, The Christian charity that my neighbor showed me yesterday demonstrated that while she may have a “Black Lives Matter” sign next to her front door, she decided a pair of old white Trump supporters mattered enough volunteer a hand to help us out in a moment that we needed it.

That is exactly the message of hope that I needed to see and the type that gives a devil like Screwtape fits:

Charity to those around you that you actually meet. As as long as I live in a neighborhood, a city and a country where stuff like this takes place (and I suspect it takes place a lot more than people realize) then regardless of how things turn out over the next four years (and how angry it makes it) American at it’s heart and in its soul will be OK.

Sorry but I’m too outraged and disheartened to write a coherent article this week

For the past few days I’ve been struggling to come up with an idea for this week’s article but I’ve just got too much anger and disappointment coursing through my mind which is making concentration difficult. 

I am so absolutely outraged that so far all of the efforts to derail the theft of the presidential election by Joe Biden supporters have fallen short, leaving only increasingly desperate measures left. 

The failure by the Supreme Court to even hear the lawsuit brought about by Texas, and signed on to by more than twenty other states, was a particularly staggering blow.  It appears that the Supreme Court is not going to lift a finger to even investigate the all too obvious theft of the election by Democrats.  It was a particularly cruel blow when all three of the Trump appointed justices failed to vote to hear the case.

What is most disheartening to me is the absolutely spineless response by Republican law makers on the federal and state level.  This election is being stolen, where’s the outrage?  Why aren’t the Republicans on any and all news broadcasts and holding  nonstop TV news conferences demanding a full investigation and complete audit of all six battleground states?  Are the Republicans too afraid of bad press and provoking riots by those on the left that they are almost silently letting this outrage happen?

The dramatic turn to the left by Fox News was a particularly nasty surprise. I watched the coverage by Fox News on election night and it made me sick.  So few people are even aware of the rampant election fraud and other election shenanigans that took place simply because the mainstream refuse to admit that it happened.

I believe that we the people, rather than some level of the government, are the only agents who will prevent this election from being stolen.  Non violent mass protests are the key. The two massive Trump rallies that took place in Washington DC are a good start but much larger and more sustained rallies are needed and they are needed fast.  They need to take place across this nation. I’m afraid that there is too much fear and apathy for that to happen.

I am still worried that this whole situation could spiral out of control into violence as we get closer to Inauguration Day.  The stakes are just to high and the theft of the of the election was just so egregious.  I see a lot of calls for an actual civil war by those on the right on social media.  I hope and pray that I am worrying needlessly about the possibility of violence.

McConnell to GOP GA voters: Stay Home! Biden’s Mayfly Voters, Missing the Lede on NFL ratings, A Medical Miracle & a 2A feature Under the Fedora

Given Mitch McConnell’s statement warning GOP senators not to challenge electors and force a senate vote I can’t see any incentive for GOP voters to turn out on January 5th for Kelly Loeffner or David Perdue unless they immediately and publicly vow to challenge said electors on the 6th if elected.

Both candidates should be made to commit to do so before a single conservative consents to vote for them.

Apparently Mitch McConnell would rather be the Senate Minority Leader for at least two years rather be majority leader and have his caucus have to vote to challenge electors in a fraudulent election.

Odd that the Democrats are not pushing for such a challenge by the GOP if it will be so fatal for the party isn’t it?

Joe Biden gave a key speech this week and managed only 52K live viewers watching it.

This is in the middle of a pandemic with people stuck at home after supposedly getting 80 million votes

Apparently the mythical Joe Biden voters who gave him the election are like Mayflies they exist and show activity for one day a year and then disappear.

I found these paragraphs from the WSJ piece on advertisers and the NFL amusing:

I saw something that made me laugh out loud on twitter yesterday:

As you can see Vin is, in addition to a doctor, a NBC news and MSNBC news analyst and he had some big news.

Perhaps he should have also expressed some gratitude on the President who put Operation Warp Speed in place which made it possible.

Of course his gigs on NBC & MSNBC depend on him not doing so. After all “Do no Harm” as a rule for doctors has been replaced by “do no harm to Democrat election prospects”

Finally As I was writing this post an old tweet of mine from two years ago was retweeted and I found it particularly apt for what might be coming.

If there is a more important reminder to those who would enslave us I can’t think of it. I think it’s also worth pointing out that Democrat efforts to convince such heavily armed people that participating in the Democratic Process of a republic is a waste of time by openly stealing an election is short sighted and dangerous.

Tom Brady’s Atlanta Comeback vs Joe Biden’s

As I update this in the 3rd quarter with Atlanta leading by 25 so Roger Goodell is likely dancing in the streets but more importantly Lady Gaga decided her songs were liberal enough so she decided to shut up and sing meaning that the NFL was able to get sanctuary from the left meaning football fans won’t have to take sanctuary from the game.

Frankly if Brady & the pats were not playing I wouldn’t give a damn and if it wasn’t Brady on that field I’d consider this game over.

10 Thoughts Under my Fedora Sanctuary Cities, Sanctuary Clubs, Sanctuary Statehouses et/all Feb 6th 2017

A couple of days ago I had a debate on twitter concerning the odds of the Biden late night “comeback” he was rather fixated on the the size of the odds quoted.

So I thought a better way of illsutrating what went on in Atlanta & other places is to compare the impossible Biden comeback to the improbable comeback of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots vs the Atlanta Falcons in Superbowl 51.

With 8:31 to go in the 3rd Quarter the Atlanta Falcons led the Patriots 28-3 leaving the Patriots 23:31 seconds to score 25 points while holding Atlanta scoreless during that same period.

Now in Georgia, along with Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan Joe Biden like Tom Brady was behind on election night to a point where most people would expect him to lose, but unexpectedly there was a sudden surge of votes in state after state that looked something like this:

Now one might ask. Well DaTechguy, if Tom Brady can launch such a comeback why is it implausible or even impossible that Joe Biden did?

That’s a good question and there are three differences between the pair that answer it.

  1. Tom Brady made his comeback on live television with millions of viewers around the world watching it in progress. Joe Biden’s comeback took place outside the view of the public
  2. Tom Brady’s comeback was made in full view of his opponents who were on the field while it happened in front of them. Joe Biden’s comeback took place with republican poll watchers removed from view or prevented from seeing things happen.
  3. Tom Brady’s comeback was made with the referees watching the entire time and with his opponents seeing the referees watching. Joe Biden’s comeback took place without any supervision of the “referees” even to the point where officials have done their best to make sure such supervision and/or audits of said comeback took place.

Imagine for a second if with the score 28-3 Atlanta, the Television cameras were turned off, the fans were escorted out, reporters escorted out and only officials aliened with Bill Belichick allowed on the field.

Then 26 minutes later all were allowed back in, the cameras were turned on you suddenly saw the game in overtime with the pats with the ball 1st and goal on the Atlanta 2 yard line.

Would you believe what you saw, particularly if the Patriots fought tooth and nail to keep any film or evidence of what happened in the play by play hidden from the public?

If you believe in a Biden victory then that’s what you believe.
