in this report from Friday’s rally; and not just because he grew up in Fitchburg:
Given the often contrived and polarizing conflict that dominates the cable-TV landscape, it would be easy, on the outside looking in, to slap a Tea Party label on Brown’s supporters. But most of those lunging for his hand were not lunatics from the fringe, merely Democrats and Independents feeling bruised, ignored and taken for granted by people in power.
If you want me to hire you to spend my money, you not only have to ask, you have to ask nicely.

I remember the last time Bush ran for president he was addressing some large black group (NAACP? I don’t remember), and he asked them, “The democrats take your vote for granted. But have they worked to earn it?”
I think that’s a bit of what’s going on here. Even democrats who would have been likely to vote for the D candidate are feeling a bit used; their vote was taken for granted, nobody asked nicely, and it’s only at the last minute that people are suddenly wanting their attention. Brown has worked for their vote, and that has turned enough of them to make a difference.
So, I guess we Tea Partiers are the “lunitics on the fringe?” Yeah, on the money.
actually I attended a tea party myself, he is right about how you have to ask for a vote.
