This may seem like an unremarkable event, but on larger and smaller scales, events like this are being repeated all over the country. As citizens of a free country it is incumbent on us who enjoy the rights protected by the fallen to remember them on this day.

Thank you for posting these photos. My family misses our Massachsetts friends. In the two short years we were there, we attended Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day commemorations in Fitchburg, Shirley, Ayer, Pepperell, Groton, and Fort Devens. I recognize many of the faces and have met many of the wonderful people in your photos, including both Gold Star Mothers. You should cherish the community patriotism and love for veterans that permeates the families, businesses, and religious institutions in central MA. Alas, it is not found everywhere. God bless our troops, God bless our fallen heroes, God bless their families, and God bless America.
Blogging about national issues is important and interesting but it is very important to remember where you live.
You are quite welcome
