Although his column makes his case with actual examples firedoglake makes his case even better with their response.

Send them a nice card Dennis.

memeorandum thread here

They report his background, (not specifically mentioning his support to park 51) but since they can’t directly attach him to opposition to the mosque they still play the Gingrich card. You can see them trying to hold back, unable to make the direct connection so it is all a question of “climate”.

I would think the irony of his attachments would be the big story, but I think it is disgraceful that they attempt to link Gingrich here or opposition to the mosque here when the facts are exactly the opposite. Since the guy supports the mosque how does the “climate of hate” connect to the attack? The only climate that mattered was the climate of alcohol in his system.

I haven’t been making it up early enough today to catch the first hour so I don’t know if they hit the Carnahan story but it would be nice.

Then again they have been very balanced looking at the president and noting that he is again being treated differently that Bush would have, noting the double standards.

That’s the thing about this show, compared to every other show on MSNBC they are not afraid to look at reality. They even pointed to Sarah Palin’s success today and acknowledged it.

I wonder if MSNBC tolerates them because a morning show by nature attracts people outside the clique?

Cripes they just played the Rubio Ad. It’s awesome!

is the title of my Latest examiner column. It concerns the events surrounding the Firebombing of Russ Carnahan (D) MO-3 office and the ensuing media firestorm media silence :

Russ Carnahan is a 3 term Democratic congressman representing the Missouri 3rd district. Unlike his two previous campaigns where he won over 65% of the vote, the bad economy, the unpopular healthcare plan and the tea party movement has put Mr. Carnahan in the political fight for his life.

On August 16th his office in St. Louis was firebombed

As you can guess despite the media template the suspect is in fact a man of the left

The story in fairness is really gateway pundit’s who has been all over it.

Camp of the saints was kind enough to already link even before this post made it up saying:

A good example of this was when the Times Square Bomb Plot was discovered and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg immediately speculated that someone or ones opposing Obamacare were behind it. As we now know, it was a Jihadist who was the plotter.

Another example of the Left blaming the Right without justification was when that Census worker was found dead in Kentucky. Turned out [sadly for the Bolshes] that it was a suicide.

We’re used to this dishonorable and disgusting behavior from the Left and methinks we’re all developing thick skins and long memories [I certainly hope the latter is true — forgiveness is a fine and admirable thing, but never, ever forget the calumnies hurled against you by your enemies].

And if we weren’t already in full irony overload mode we have the Manhattan Borough president proclaiming on Fox the guilt of the tea parties hours after the Politico reported the opposite and US NEWS reporting death threats against Freedom Works.

In an infinite universe mathematics tells us sooner or later the media will actually find an actual example of Tea Party violence but it would seem to me we ought to classify the media and leftist belief in the “violent tea party” as a religion that way it can be a matter of faith rather than reason. (Sola MSNBC?)

I can’t wait for the day when this kind of thing will surprise me again.

tonight on O’Reilly.

Scott Stringer apparently hasn’t read this story from that well known tea party organ the Politico:

The apparent anti-Muslim assault on a New York city cabbie by a man shouting “Assalamu Alaikum. Consider this a checkpoint” produced an immediate round of recriminations over its connection to opposition to a New York Islamic Center and an apparent rising tide of Islamophobia.

But as often at the intersection of politics and violent crime, the story doesn’t appear to fit any easy stereotype: The alleged assailant, Michael Enright, is — according to his Facebook profile and the website of the left-leaning media organization Intersections International — a student at the School of Visual Arts and a volunteer for Intersections, which recently produced a statement of support for the Park51 project and is funded by the mainstream, liberal Collegiate Church of New York.

Yet just now on O’Reilly he blames the tea party, Newt Gringrich and Sarah Palin for blood.

I await his apology. I will be awaiting it for a long time I suspect. As I said in my examiner column today on a different subject:

So yet another potential: “Tea Party rage” story fizzles. So when will the media stop using this template? The answer lays in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

A spaceship is marooned in a wasteland until “flights stores are complete” when it’s pointed out that there is a no civilization outside the autopilot answers

The statistical likelihood is that other civilizations will arise. There will one day be lemon-soaked paper napkins. ‘Till then, there will be a short delay

Coverage won’t come until the media gets the tea party violence it seeks. They’ll wait as long as it takes.

I’d like to say I was amazed but I’m not.

Update:
I have called and e-mailed his office with questions concerning if and when he found out this was false. I will let you know if I hear anything.

Update 2: Michelle Malkin lists the litany of error
