Ok let me get this straight, Obama will not use nukes…

…against any non-nuclear country. What does it mean?

1. First it means that if we choose to use our Nuclear Deterrent it will automatically trigger a nuclear exchange.

2. Secondly it means that any non-nuclear country may decide to take aggressive action knowing that any US response will involve the time it takes to assemble and transport a conventional force to said area.

3. Ok lets say you are a country that counted on US deterrent to help protect them, after this announcement where we limit the use of said deterrent what do we do now? We now start thinking either capitulation or nuking up themselves.

The whole idea of a deterrent is to deter, it is to prevent the need of its use. This is going to do exactly the opposite.

Symbolism over substance, that’s liberalism all over.

Update: Pundit & Pundette bottom lines it with their title:

Do you feel safer now?

That’s what it comes down to.

Comments
  1. It’s also historically ignorant in the extreme. No matter what one thinks of America’s use of atomic bombs during WWII, two things are clear: it ended the war with much fewer casualties (on both the American and Japanese sides) and much sooner; and it was used against a country that didn’t even think atom bombs could exist, let alone one with its own nuclear stockpile.

Yes, this is all show – and all done to return America to a 10 September 2001 mentality.

  2. My grandfather served over there and would have been part of the Japan invasion had we not nuked them. I’m here because we did.
