The fact that it is still an empty lot almost 10 years later:

We’re just three weeks shy of the moment, nine years ago, when the landing-gear assembly from the plane that hit the South Tower smashed through the roof and two floors of 45 Park Place, which housed a Burlington Coat Factory.

Imagine that, in the weeks following, you had expressed the opinion that in nine years’ time, that building would sit abandoned only 560 feet from Ground Zero — and there would be no memorial, no museum, no nothing on the 16 acres on which the towers themselves sat.

It is that failure that makes this controversy happen and although Podhordez gives the blame to Pataki (a fair amount that he earned btw) I have to say that President Bush should have lit a fire under these people. I think it should have been federalized and rebuilt as was with a museum in maybe the bottom 4 floors.

The Roma Band of Boston played at the Madonna Della Cava festival last Sunday. We talked to the band before the festivities began:

If you are looking for an Italian band for an event (And you should be) The Roma Band should be high on the list.

Haley Barbour is a first rate Gov, (look at Mississippi’s recovery from Katrina vs La.) who is a solid conservative and republican and if he runs he would without a question be the most qualified candidate in the field.

Don’t get me wrong I absolutely think Sarah Palin is awesome, her willingness to take on this administration when others would not is very important and absent Barbour I would without a question support her, but if he is in the field on primary day I can’t see how I can support her over him and of course a Barbour/Palin ticket would be incredible, particularly since Palin still being a young woman (in terms of presidential politics) could easily do two terms afterwords. Palin would also excel in the traditional vice presidential role of speaking for and defending conservative politics and principles of such an administration

Joe mentions that a white Mississippi governor running against Barack Obama is going to be treated like Bull Connor by the MSM, the NAACP et/al, but then again any candidate running against Obama will be treated as such. That is true but the media has overdrawn on both the race card and their credibility account so I wouldn’t worry about it.

Their interview/article on Pam Geller was tough but fair.

I think it is an excellent example of how to do a “hostile” interview, dealing with someone you disagree with fundamentally.

I hit the left side of the ‘sphere a bit so when they do it right they deserve a pat.

Good show.

Update: Jim Hoff mentions the Washington post bloggers are also giving credit to Pam, but he teases them for putting a clip of her in a bikini.

Let’s cut to the chase: Pam is an extraordinarily beautiful woman who looks even better in person. Any picture is going to get hits because of that, so you might has well go whole hog in the Stacy McCain vein.

Update 2: Stacy updates on Pam and the Bikini and exploding heads at LGF
